barbara’s is a buffet heritage restaurant showcasing a variety of filipino food. moreover, the ambiance of the entire area is very historic. the place will surely put youbackin the spanish era. as you get inside, you will notice round tables and chairs, crystal chandeliers, and wooden furniture. in line with these, you will feel like you are in a filipino traditional house.

it was mother's day so my family decided to celebrate it here at barbara's . the moment that i stepped in barbara its a travelbackin time feeling . we arrived at barbara's around 5:30 pm , early birds for the dinner buffet so we are able to choose a table that is in front of the stage . the dinner buffet cost php895.00 all in the drinks is not included but it comes with a cultural show , i find the cultural show very entertaining . the show features most of the filipino dance from luzon to mindanao culture dance at the end of the show they will ask if you want to join them for their tinikling dance hehehehe. the food i can say  is mostly  filipino and healthy food , they serve a lot of vegetables and fruits . they also have lechon yummy. over all the food is good service is good the cultural show is very entertaining and the ambiance is very nice. clap clap for barbara's.

the vegetables they’ve put on our orders were no longer fresh—given th fact that they are supposed to be fine dining, it was truly unexpected, not to mention disappointing! wilted veggies with black color on the sides?? que horror??? they used those on our pancit orders. to think i find their pancit too expensive!!! saksakan pa ng lamok palibhasa madilim yung area/place nung resto. when i asked why there were too mosquitoes, they answered that the intramuros admin are supposed to take care of the fumulgation. but how about putting tea candles to shoo moquitoes away? such a disappointment. i will not comebackhere.

one of the most amazing resto in manila i've been so far. the filipino-spanish vibe is all around. ambiance, music, interiors are so elegant.

the food were great. from viands of all kinds, appetizers and desserts are ridicously good! most recommended is the guyabano shake that was so awesome freshly made!

will definitely comebackand recommend this to anyone. i was so busy feeling the place and enjoyed my meal and wasn't able to take a pic. but trust me, you'll never go wrong with this resto! ❤️

usually, when i would go to barbara's we would order or eat from the buffet. but this time we opted to order ala carte. ordered pritchon, seafood platter, kare-kare and of course.... the favorite blueberry cheesecake. suprisingly the pritchon was just the right crunch.the seafood was good, cooked just right... and of course loved the cook of the kare kare. though... it wasnt as good as i have remembered. the cheesecake was as always for me one of if not the best ive had yet. :) the service was awesome and they accomodated us despite arriving at 930 pm (they close at 10pm) and allowed us to stay till around 11pm. the ambiance is cozy and homey though i still get dizzy going down their steep stairs. always a favorite to gobackto. :)

the food are a bit pricey for it's serving size. i ordered caldereta and i must say that the meat is very soft and tastes so good. is it worth the price? somehow. but i still wish they lower the price or be more generous to the serving size. their halo-halo and chocolate cake is okay but nothing special. the place is very nice looking and staffs are very accommodating. still love the overall experience. hopefully, i can gobackto try their buffet.

mia and i came from divisoria for her school needs. since it is near intramuros, we decided to take a much needed late lunch here. barbara’s was our pick, and i have mixed reviews to share.

i knew for a fact they use to be a fine dining place. now with more options around, and with competition hitting them, they have turned it into a buffet place. this move, i believe will hurt them more.

eat all you can is a move that is always a quantity over quality issue. this is what i felt as i tried most of their offerings. generally, the servings were either cold, greasy and messy to look at. hey, i even saw a little cockroach crawling around.

i did appreciate some effort they extended to make us feel at home. like when they volunteered to hand out a plate of hot and savory plate of roast beef and a cup of their sweet ginataang halo halo.

i find their chicken adobo, liempo and spiced up kaldereta worth having. the paella and inasal, on the other hand, were forgettable. both were served without much interest, dry and plain.

intramuros got a lot to offer not just for tourist. me and mia are planning to gobacksoon despite its distance from where we stay.

we arrived here around 8pm, galing kaming bgc. so patapos na yung buffet ng 9pm and the show (traditional filipino music) as we arrived, almost uwian na dahil magsasara na nga sila. we did not enjoy so much the food ans the ambiance, but the good at the buffet was great!!

buffet start at 6:30, next time will be here around 6pm para naabutan lahat ng shows. well bebackhere, kasi were not satisfied sa nangyari samin gawa ng late kami nakadating

overall- 4.5/5

well bebackhere.

had a buffet dinner with my boyfriend. the ambiance was okay. the cultural dances was very entertaining as well. my only concern is when my boyfriend asked for the bill. the waiter handed us the receipt, then my boyfriend asked how come our bill ended up with 3,000 pesos? the buffet dinner only costs 699. we did not get any answer from the waiter. he just took the receiptbackand wentbackinside. be careful everyone. always check your receipt before handing your cc or cash.

going old school:

the joy of going over to intramuros to have a feel of the old walled city is always a thrill. stepping out of the car and being greeted by guardia sibil and lady's in their filipiniana adds delight to what the customers want to experience.

today is father's day and we decided to head over to barbaras for dinner. i first glanced at the buffet offer which cost around php783.00 per head, got the feeling that the value of the buffet does not match the price as the main course offering is too few; so we decided to have an a la carte menu to start off our dinner.

my siblings ordered barbaras special salad, while i ordered the chicken and pork adobo. the salad cost around php215.00 and as described on the menu its mesclun greens with caramelized walnuts and shaved parmesan topped with fresh fruits in season. salad arrived with just the mesclun greens and shaved parmesan (hardly any) there were some fruits coming from a fruit salad can... that's how fresh it was. we requested for the salad to be replaced but unfortunately the description on the menu is inaccurate.

the chicken & pork adobo taste good, but priced at php315.00 the portion size is too few...

we don't mind the old carpet nor the smell of old furnitures, we loved the service of the seasoned staff because it gives you a feeling of the traditional restaurant service that is lost now with all the hipsterish restos who does not know what service is all about.

i hope the management improves the serving sizes & accuracy in menu descriptions. would love to gobackhere when that happens, but as it is... no reason for going back.

it was valentine's day but we have reserved seating. what i did not expect was to be seated in the lunch area, when we bought tickets to see the dance performance for cultural show. we will bebackjust to see the show next time. btw, the beef menu that time was bulalo, when on an ordinary day they would serve roast beef and almondigas for soup. bit disappointing.

relaxed ambiance , great food , affordable price and world class customer service combined into one. this restaurant is located in the historical place of intramuros manila , in front of san agustin church. this is truly a place to be, may it be for business meetings, dinner dates or just plain casual dining. barbara serves a reminder that filipino dishes will always be an endless favorite. this restaurant delivers all the great filipino cuisine that will never be forgotten by our tastebuds . i definitely enjoyed my barbara's experience. i will surely beback! try it out too!

price is expensive for average tasting food. there is a 22% added charge to any orders total (12% vat, 10% service) making the cost more than the already expensive meals listed in the menu. food is only okay tasting and not served in large servings despite it costing double the common price. i'm angry at places like this. they serve only ok tasting diner food at fine dining prices. who the heck do they think they are? they're pretentious! the setting and prices give an air of self-importance, of quality, but the quality is just okay and they must think their food tastes better than it actually does to charge so much. i ordered pancit canton here for 175 (with 22% additional charge its 200+) elsewhere i got pancit canton with a similar flavor and portion size for 95php. guess which establishment i'm going to gobackto. not this one. plus i found a fly in my 3rd order which was a double decker and i thought it was a burger because i have only seen the term "double decker" for burgers and its listed under "burgers/sandwiches". they should make it clear in the description or change the name of it to not have confusion. its like an egg salad + ham sandwich... it was served with a fly in the egg salad part 😡

my team and i and our business partner went to this restaurant for lunch. the place was reminiscent of old spanish colonial architecture. the ambiance was of the same era too. they served buffet lunch for just 550 pesos. the selection wasn't that many but every dish they served was really good. there was a pancit molo soup, lechon kawali, pansit malabon, beef karekare, pinakbet, grilled gindara, lechon manok, lumpiang ubod,a salad bar, and banana cue,and turon, and assorted fruits for dessert. halfway through the meal, a male trio serenaded us with classic and new songs. the food tastes really homemade....something that will remond you of grandma's cooking. i will definitely gobackto this place.

the place is really instagram worthy. went there with my bff and as soon as we stepped inside we both got the feels like we traveledbackin time. even though i'm all praises for the place i can't say the same for the food. it's not that bad but not extraordinary either. i loved the chicken adobo though. but is it worth 595? if you have a lot of money to spare and you're just after some wonderful shots, it is definitely worth every peso but if you're really after some mouth-watering food there sure are other places to eat.
