for a restaurant of this prestige, or so i've read, i expected more. the food was okay, but the serving time was too long. the portions were also meh. it's good friday today and the restaurant should have expected the influx of customers. the holy week surge is not an excuse.

honestly loved the place, we accidentally stumbled upon this place and was very pleased with everything. all the staff were so kind, welcoming, and attentive. we were escorted properly in our seats and they’re all very pleasant people. the place itself was gorgeous, can’t believe we got to dine in that kind of interior for food with prices that are reasonable. seats were so comfy, the tables were spacious and big, even the entrance and the way inside was so classy, everything was just so lovely.

i guess the missing star is for the food portions, though i did say that the price is reasonable for the ambiance the place gave, their servings were kind of small.

over priced not so special food. better off eating in a fastfood. really unsatisfactory experience. wasted a ton of cash to unpalatable food.

barbara’s is a buffet heritage restaurant showcasing a variety of filipino food. moreover, the ambiance of the entire area is very historic. the place will surely put you back in the spanish era. as you get inside, you will notice round tables and chairs, crystal chandeliers, and wooden furniture. in line with these, you will feel like you are in a filipino traditional house.

a spanish influenced city in the heart of manila is called intramuros.
intramuros is a historic city walled area that all visitors to the philippines should not miss, even for a day.
it is the only district of manila where old spanish-era influences are still plentiful.
the houses, parks, activities and even culture are still rich up until now.
aside from sightseeing though, there's also another way to appreciate the philippine culture and that is to try local food.
a perfect place within the walls of intramuros to try is barbara's which is a spanish-filipino restaurant.
a place that not only serves filipino food but has nightly cultural presentations as well.
as we visit the place, we notice that there's a lot of foreigners interested to dine and watch the show.
the buffet food was ok though there's a limited option.
as a filipino guest who knows the authentic cuisine might not be satisfied with what they serve.
it cost p783 or $16 for dinner buffet and p615 or $12 for a lunch buffet which i think is kinda pricey.
when it comes to location, it can be easily found via waze or you can walk right to it from san agustin church.
the interior was cozy and warm that reminds me of old spanish homes with wooden floors and sliding capiz windows.
the staff are not that accommodating and sometimes forget your requests.
what i am amazed is the night show that represents the culture of filipino.
they gracefully dance and performed while wearing the colorful and traditional costume all over the philippines.

a classic filipino buffet restaurant in the heart of intramuros.

this was my 3rd time to dine in this restaurant and still it didn't satisfy me due to limited choices of food that they served and the taste.
i brought 3 friends here from different countries and they were not satisfied with the food as well.
food - too salty/too oily/ pricey/ordinary

hopefully, they will change their mind and include drinks to the buffet package 😊

single serve only for main dishes. they do advise 30 mins for your orders to arrive but its a test of patience. beautiful interiors, take cool photos. not the best value for money. live performers we’re interesting.

had a breakfast meal here at barbaras’s coffee shop before we roam around intramuros. the pesto that i ordered was delicious as well as the mango shake - perfect thirst quencher for the hot weather.

hopefully, me and my soon to be hubby would have a romantic date here..i like their concepts..im also hoping that this would be our wedding reception..its really really nice.. :)

it was mother's day so my family decided to celebrate it here at barbara's . the moment that i stepped in barbara its a travel back in time feeling . we arrived at barbara's around 5:30 pm , early birds for the dinner buffet so we are able to choose a table that is in front of the stage . the dinner buffet cost php895.00 all in the drinks is not included but it comes with a cultural show , i find the cultural show very entertaining . the show features most of the filipino dance from luzon to mindanao culture dance at the end of the show they will ask if you want to join them for their tinikling dance hehehehe. the food i can say  is mostly  filipino and healthy food , they serve a lot of vegetables and fruits . they also have lechon yummy. over all the food is good service is good the cultural show is very entertaining and the ambiance is very nice. clap clap for barbara's.

what a beautiful restaurant - absolutely love the decor. the seats by the window are perfect for dates 👌. the food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, and everything is affordable. service is great, although it seemed a bit understaffed in the afternoon.

outside seating - table with bird poop not wiped properly while they set. service time too long almost 1 hour. i said i want lunch and asked the adobo rice, i asked 'is it rice topped with adobo?' and they said yes but when my order came it's literally adobo chiken flakes mixed with a little over half cup of rice with fried egg of irregular shape and 2 thin tomato slices. i am literally thinking it might be some recycled meat coz of the chiken being slightly burnt. to go with it i had a very bland mango shake. they don't seem to know sugar. then the billing, onset i asked if card is okay and they said yes but time to swipe and there's no terminal signal. imagine not having cash - you might end up in the kitchen washing dishes.
everything is so disappointing.

want value for money? go to those resto's near plm. they have great customer service.

1 star is for the guard who assisted me with the staysafe app.

the vegetables they’ve put on our orders were no longer fresh—given th fact that they are supposed to be fine dining, it was truly unexpected, not to mention disappointing! wilted veggies with black color on the sides?? que horror??? they used those on our pancit orders. to think i find their pancit too expensive!!! saksakan pa ng lamok palibhasa madilim yung area/place nung resto. when i asked why there were too mosquitoes, they answered that the intramuros admin are supposed to take care of the fumulgation. but how about putting tea candles to shoo moquitoes away? such a disappointment. i will not come back here.

service time was too long and the requests were sometimes incomplete.

my bf tried to reserve a table for feb 15. he asked the telephone operator if there is a confirmation message from them, the operator answered "sir kayo nga po dapat ung magconfirm kung makakarating kayo eh" with sarcastic laugh. he also asked "what time po ba ung dinner?". ang sagot ng operator "kayo po bahala". 1 star because staffs are so unprofessional and disrespectful!
