i decided to try this place after a subpar experience at a chineese restaurant a few blocks away. looked at the menu provided on here and at the restaurant, the prices increased from on here to their in house menu. ok cost of inflation. i ordered the #2 combo dinner and the husband ordered the #5 combo dinner. so the dinners came with wonton soup. it was very yummy, very flavourful and probably the best i have had. so my dinner came with sweet and sour pork, chickenchow mein and deep fried prawns. thechickenin the chow mein was delichickenmeat sliced from a slicer vs sm.chickenchunks (pls see my picture). the sweet and sour sauce was too ketchup heavy, it needs more balance/zen. the ‘prawns’ looked like they were starved to death or anorexic. they were way to small/thin for prawns. the husband had sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and almond chicken. thechickenwas not dry at all. the pork in the rice had an aluminum flavour to it. sweet and sour pork was good and not dry, the only downer for it was what i mentioned above. would try them again to see if they can redeem themselves.

overall i felt the visit here was good. upon walking in the staff were cheerful, welcoming, and attentive. the seating area was tidy and comfortable with a cozy light level. i ordered the custom meal for one with fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and almond chicken. the fried rice was the perfect texture with a nice mix of seasoning. the pork was tender but it was heavy on the sauce which had a hint of ketchup in it. the almondchickenwas a bit high on salt but you could still taste thechickenthrough the batter which was crunchy without being dry.

i sampled my wife’schickenchow-mien and shrimp. thechickenwas deli meat which kind of turned me off of itz, but the cabbage noodles were very nice. the batter on the shrimp was a bit thick and overpowered the flavour of the shrimp.

abbotsford's best chinese restaurant. bamboo palace is my favorite chinese restaurant, nothing compares! the prices are fantastic, the quality is great and they serve very generous portions. i've never been disappointed, whether we've picked up or dined in, it's always been hot and tasty. we recently moved away and have yet to find anything compared to bamboo palace, they just can't be beat! we make a point of ordering takeout every time we are in the area. my favorites include the egg rolls, breaded almondchickenand thechickenchop suey, but all of their dishes are amazing!

i heard it was a great restaurant, but i have to disagree with that. i tried the vegetable chow mien, and i'm sorry but it was the most disgusting chow mien i have ever tried. the fried rice is exceptional, but thechickenit gross,it's oily, greasy and had slimy texture. after i tried everything i put them back in take out bag and through it in the garbage. my family agreed it was awful.

never again!. we decided to try bamboo palace for lunch today; we're pretty new to abbotsford and are still trying to find our favorite restaurants. we ordered a number 4,6, and 14 as well as 4 egg rolls off of the lunch menu. there were no prices listed on their web page, it seemed the food was very reasonably priced until we started eating. the low price was not worth the lack of flavor or quality. my meal came with sweet and sourchickenballs, beef chop suey and chow mein; the chow mein had no seasoning and just tasted scorched, the veggies were cooked well, thechickenballs were ok. my husband had fried rice that also tasted scorched, and was under cooked(not boiled long enough), he seemed happy with the prawns, the sweet and sour pork was more sour than anything. our daughters wonton soup looked like it was the best choice, the wontons were not to bad and the broccoli was cooked well. the egg rolls were disgusting, they were filled with this slimey ummm, i guess stuff that was not appetizing at all! it looked like it came out of a nose. the first words out of our 6 year olds mouth were," these are really soft", they weren't the crisp egg rolls we were expecting. $7.00 worth of egg rolls met our garbage can! i will not be eating here again!
