great value for money. the portions are agoodsize and they're generous with the meat. the veggies are nice and fresh as well. the pho soup was great and the meat was cooked nicely.

the worst i have ever tried. i am a big fan of pho! i have been to many vietnamese restaurants. this was the worst i have ever tried. i paid $10.50 for a bowl of pho. noodle was not much and only two types (chicken and beef) were in the list. much less veriety than places i have tried and taste of the pho was the worst. if you are trying to have a romantic time with your partner, never ever come here. if you are looking forgoodpho restaurants, go to victoria street in melbourne. this is shame there is only one vietnamese restaurant in ballarat!!!!!!!

excellent food. very affordable!. i was taken to the vietnamese noodle house only two weeks ago, and have already taken two friends on two occasions since! i've tried the crispy chicken and noodle soup (no.22), the pork and prawn noodle soup (no.19 a must try!) and the singapore noodles off the main menu, as well as the sugar cane prawns, chicken skewers, dumplings and rice paper rolls off the entree menu and all were delicious.
the broth is beautifully aromatic but mild in flavour. and when poured over the generous serving of meat and vegetables, received in a separate bowl (i've only ordered takeaway) it comes alive! fresh crisp clean flavours that leaving you feeling energised and thegoodtype of full!
mains average around $10 to $13 and between $3 and $6.50 for entrees. very affordable even for a family!

overall not at bad place for vietnamese considering its ballart. have a wide array of options (though would have liked a taro milk tea), staff were friendly and very accommodating.

once again it's no vietnamese restaurant in st. albans or footscray, but considering you're in ballarat it'sgoodto have.

deliciously inconsistant. ballarat noodle bar serves tasty low-priced vietnamese and "anonymous chinese" fast food -goodbut not exceptional, which makes sense given the cost and type of restaurant.

the standout dish was the shiitake mushroom soup, which was a beautifully rich, thick, seafoody soup with mushrooms, egg drops and chicken. both my father and i commented on how fantastic this dish was. the vegetarian spring rolls needed a bit more time in the fryer to be properly crispy and brown, and i was hoping for flavoured fish sauce, although the sweet and sour was fine. i have had these before, and they were much better the first time.

my grilled pork chop was nicely seasoned, although the outside could have been a touch crispier, but the accompanying tomato rice was very disappointing - oily and eggy, with no discernible tomato sauce. dad's combination stir fried soft egg noodles were nice and definitely tasty but clearly not a specialty.

overall, ballarat chinese & vietnamese food & noodle bar serves appetizing food at a very reasonable price. while the cooking could be more consistent, this has already become a favourite and i know i'll be returning frequently - especially for the mushroom soup!

cheap, basic and very very slow. the first time i came here i ordered just 3 dishes and was told it would take 15 minutes. it took 45. the food wasgoodfor the price but nothing special. the second time i rang and was told to call back later because they were too busy and not taking orders. when i arrived at the restaurant i could see why: they only had 1 person cooking, and on a friday night! i ordered anyway and it took about 45 minutes, arriving about 8:15. the food is good, but these guys really need to get organised or they'll be out of business very quickly.
