it was the blue crab fritter with avocado, thai pepper essence and oranges. it was also very good, lots of crab, just a hint of spice when needed. highly recommended.

phenomenal food and service!!! we had dinner there last night and it was the best food, i've ever had.

incredible!!!. wow.. this is one of the best restaurants i have ever eaten at. i have eaten at gordon ramsay's fine dining in new york, but this tops it. its a 4 course menu (+little dishes in between) for $85. everything was a delight. one course topped the next that topped the next. this is a must try!!

waste of hard-earned cash. if you love mediocre food at astronomical prices, than this is the restaurant for you! i don't judge restaurants on poor ambiance or service (which this place had), but on quality of food. whoever likes this place must have had waaaaayy to much money in their pocket, been really high, or just doesn't know good food. i grew up in atlanta, have eaten at all the dives and all the "high-end" restaurants, and this is at or near the bottom of the list (save yourself $150 and grab a burger at five guys down the street)

excellence is the best description. bacchanalia has over the years maintained the highest level of excellence in food concepts, preparation and delivery. never in the seven years that i have been going there has anything been put on the table that wasn't cooked perfectly precisely executed and intensely flavorful. the meat and seafood dishes are simple yet elevated, enhancing the flavor and texture of the dish. the vegetable dishes use strong contrast in texture to often show different aspects.

in short, keep this on the short list for a night to remember.

we have eaten at most of the best restaurants in atlanta, and bacchanalia is the best food you can eat in this city.

best food ever. first i would like to say that the quality of the food and service is well worth the price. i have been many times and i am always blown away at the quality of the food. it is my current best restaurant. i can go on about how wonderful this place is but bottom line, it is the best and i have not been able to find anything wrong with it.

awesome in every way. i have been here several times and it is always the best of everything. this is one of my favorite restaurants, and for good reason. the food is excellent and so is the staff. i have seen no faults so i can go on forever about how this place is awesome.

just okay. i ate there for the first time this evening. the food was okay, nothing i would rave about. i can't really say i liked or disliked the place. as my dinner was paid for by another party, i have nothing to complain about. had i been on the hook for the cost of dinner i would probably be singing a different tune. the food was good, that's all i can say. if this is the pinnacle of fine dining in atlanta then we must have some really good restaurants in the suburbs, as i have had just as good food at 1/3 the cost.

one of our favorites. we've been here many times. each time we get ask the bartender for the martini recipe. food is always outstanding. closest thing to the french laundry in atlanta.

truly fine dining...... i have no idea how someone cannot love this place. it's hands-down the best place in atlanta. whenever we are celebrating something very special this is the only place i want to go!

wow!. attended a small (7) dinner party on sat; we were swankily curtained off for privacy. it proved quite difficult to chose for each course because everything looked good. i had a light & flavorful summer sangria while trying to decide. the amuse bouche was appreciated by the entire table. for my app, i chose the gnocchi (delish); i also got to sample the blue crab fritter (very good). for my entrée, i chose the wood grilled lamb loin chops and all i can say is wow! that was the best lamb i have had in my entire life (didn't care for the mint honey, glad it was on the side). my cheese course was a delish buffalo mozzarella, amazing flavor explosion. for dessert i indulged in the yogurt parfait; i very much enjoyed the muscadine sorbet. the service was impeccable! kevin didn't miss a beat.

disappointed. i couldn't fairly rate our experience at bacchanalia as below average in general, but with respect to its reputation and our expectations, it was definitely sub-par.
of course the food was delicious, and beautifully prepared to the eye and palate. but the service was so poor, that it all but ruined our evening, and left us with a bad taste in our mouths (idiom and pun intended).
it was not even close to "the best restaurant in atlanta", and we regretted spending our very special night there.

consideration. just a reminder to everyone reading reviews: anyone who talks about how they visited a restaurant for their "birthday dinner" or complains about the price shouldn't be listened to. "birthday" diners, never eat out except on that one special day, so their palatte is more apt to enjoy mcdonalds than a decent meal. price complainers get indigestion at the thought of paying more than $9.99 for an entree, no matter how good it is. those who complain about price during their bday dinner - the worst possible person to listen to. disregard these reviews and listen to the people who eat out more than once a year, and have deep enough pockets to afford something that isn't on a value meal.

great food, great service, great atmosphere, portions are more than enough, and it's reasonable price. the manager there, catalina, , is great. she made our experience an a+.
