below average. the atmosphere is nice and service was good. the red velvet pancakes are amazing nice flavor very fluffy. the chicken fried steak was horrible verysmalland under cooked. the eggs tasted like the first thing the put on the grill after cleaning it.

she's happy. was it insanity or a senior moment? i have made the same mistake in the past when we stayed at the south point, but i thought the restaurant would be reasonably close to sam's. it wasn't so don't do it. this location and its s. buffalo counterpart are always busy for breakfast, but we lucked out and did not have to wait for a table though a waiting line formed shortly thereafter. my wife ordered the banana cream pie pancakes, i ordered crepe-like lemon ricotta. even after drizzling the pancakes with 2 containers of cream cheese syrup and lemon segments, mine were virtually tasteless. hers was delicious, mine was not. she finished hers, i did not. she was very happy, i was not.

delicious. thissmalleatery is very popular, but our timing was perfect so were immediately seated. after reviewing the menu and ogling the plates on surrounding tables we decided to share short stacks of red velvet and strawberry pancakes. the red velvet pancakes are topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips with a cream cheese syrup served on the side. the strawberry pancakes include sliced strawberries, a dollop of whipped cream, powdered sugar and strawberry sauce.

we were told there was a 45 minute and we chose to wait. we weren't seated for over an hour. once seated, we waited for our waiter while he greeted a table that was sat after us. the food took over 30 minutes and was not worth the wait. the restaurant is verysmalland very poorly designed. definitely will not go back. very disappointed.

i don't get it!.smallcramped restaurant , not well thought out. you had better like reggae music or your in trouble. lots of waiting here. egg dishes use too much oil. cooks tend to brown eggs. potatoes seem frozen and deepfried instead of seasoned as described on menu. seasoned potatoes are actually fresh potatoes, onions, peppers, and seasoned in big skillet with lid. that's the way to do them so there is not much taste of oil. pancakes taste like ihop fare to me....nothing special. way too much sugar, chocolate, marshmellow, etc. how about some corn or buckwheat cakes with fresh fruit? something healthier instead of what has already been done!they lead you to believe chefs are creating exciting pancake delights. however, it seems like dennys line cooking to me!

eh, so so.... this is the first time in a long time that i have gotten a chicken fried steak that was not fork tender. i was a bit disappointed. i also had to salt the gravy! really.
the seating area issmalland tables are not used in an efficient manner. also, the doors and windows were very, very dirty...hand smudges and sneeze trails, i almost was turned off from eating just because of that!!!
the server was very good.
i am most likely not going to return. i would rather try a new spot.

great little gem. we visit summerlin often. first time at this place. reviews were mixed but after a 15 min wait our 6 party was seated. great variety for everyone and some unusual items hawaiian and phillipino influence makes this place worthwhile. very reasonably priced and fresh food. not a greasy spoon place at all. service was great. in fact we had a 2 yr old with us and they gave us her food first so she didn't have to wait while our order cooked. that was service and heads up thinking by our waitress.

bottom line:smallbusy place with a likely wait. great variety and quality of food with great prices. we had great service. definitely would go back.

good breakfast, worth the wait. i've been to babycakes a few time now and have always had great food. the staff is friendly and helpful, the only problem is since the place is now and small, sometimes there's a 30 - 45 minute wait if you get there after 8am. my favorite item is the eggs benedict. the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict is delish and a goodsmallmeal if you not too hungry or just want asmallmeal. i have not had a bad meal yet out of the 5 times that i've been there.

rick's adobo fried rice is the perfect savory breakfast. it's basically adobo chicken and rice incased in an egg wrap. it makes perfect sense since fried rice usually has egg in it....now why didn't i think of this? the adobo was almost as good as my wife's and had a nice balance of flavors.

yumm!. we have been to babycakes cafe three times so far. the first time we went there was a forty minute wait. it was soon clear why there was such a long wait...verysmallrestaurant + very good food = long wait.

visit 1:
my wife ordered the red velvet pancakes that everyone has been raving about. they were very good and had a lovely, melty center. i do have to say they were a little too sweet for my taste. i ate 4 or 5 delicious bites and reached my sweet quotient for the day. i have a very low sweet tolerance so the fact that i had 5 bites is actually a pretty glowing review for me.

my wife, who has a sweet tooth, loved the pancakes. in fact, after she took her first bite, she said, "this is better than jamm's," which until that point had been our favorite local breakfast place.

i ordered rick's adobo fried rice with macaroni salad. i loved it. it was the perfect savory breakfast. it's basically adobo chicken and rice incased in an egg wrap. it makes perfect sense since fried rice usually has egg in it....now why didn't i think of this? the adobo was almost as good as my wife's and had a nice balance of flavors.

visit 2:
my wife ordered the white chocolate madam nut pancakes. they were really good, but again a little sweet for my non-existent sweet tooth. my wife didn't have any problem polishing them off though.

i ordered the ranchero omelette. it was pretty good but not really memorable.

visit 3:
today my wife ordered the baby chick omelette with s'mores babycakes.

i got a breakfast burrito with peanut butter and banana babycakes.

the omelette and burrito were good, but the pancakes were the standouts. i preferred mine because they weren't overly sweet. my wife liked the s'mores better. both were very good.

so far my favorite dish has been the rick's adobo fried rice. my wife's favorite is the red velvet babycakes.
