tasty food. stylish interior design. excellent service. food is priced on par, but alcohol is overpriced.. duck confit ($17) --- nice amount of tender/juicy duck meat with crispy skin, tasty little salad
beef ($36) --- well-cooked steak, nicely seasoned, meat rested before serving, smaller arugula salad w/o enough dressing, twice baked potato was decent, but not impressive
pasta ($24) --- fresh-made noodles were good, elk ragu was delicious, however, at $24 for a pasta it needed something more to justify the price
drinks ($12) --- i'm not paying $12 for an old-fashioned made with bulleit bourbon!! for $12 the drinks should be made w/ premium brands.

definitely would dine here again! the food was super tasty, fresh and exciting! the flavours come alive in your mouth, and the food is appealing to your eyes long before the first mouthful of food hits your lips! i would suggest coming here if you've got time to wait between each course (we ordered a snack item, starter and then our entrées), as the brilliant meals take proper time to be created by the cooks. the service was pretty decent with how busy the restaurant seemed. prices on different dishes lean more to the higher price point for the sk standard for a meal; however, come to have a great foodie experience and enjoy a night out for dinner and i'm sure you'll enjoy ayden's kitchen too!

overpriced. for all the hype, i was very excited to try this place. while service was very good, i truly did not find my meal particularly exciting or extraordinary, particularly for the price tag (and that was after they fixed our bill which included drinks and dessert from another table!). if you've got money to burn, go for it. i don't, so will return to other places before coming back here again.

never again. have been there 4 or 5 times. each time we say we are not going back but keep giving them a second chance. this time did it. the hostess was abrupt that sat us. the waiter takes you drink order and it takes a long time to get your drinks. he kept rushing us to place our order. we did place an order for our appetizers and he said we had to place our main course order then as well. we had to continually ask for water which came warm with no ice.
the wine list is over priced. when he brought the wine (which came with a stelvin closure) he poured us some and then put the top back on the wine rather than letting it breathe. we were rushed in and out which is not acceptable when paying this much. we were so rushed we went elsewhere for dessert and our final cocktail.
the final straw was our waiter constantly putting his hand on my husband.

i very much enjoyed the service and food in this place, although not aure spending the money for that type of atmopshere is appropriate , yelling across the table to talk and trying to hear my own company all the while trying to enjoy such elegant fresh food, not worth the money! and i really dont mind paying the money for good food and good service!!... but seriously way way overpriced!!!

amazing! new favorite!. i tried ayden's for the first time last night and it was incredibly yummy! it is a bit pricey, but for the quality of food and the taste of the food make up for the price! we shared the the popcorn prawns, thai wings, lobster caesar, the new pasta dish and the smore ice cream sandwich for dessert! it's hard to pick a favorite, but if i had to pick i'd say the lobster caesar salad! i will definitely be returning to try more amazing food!

nice atmosphere. i like the restaurant atmosphere and staff is excellent. the meals were tasty and well presented. found it odd to see such a young clientele - i felt like we were the oldest people there on a saturday night, as it was full of 20- something's who all appeared to be sharing main dishes or simply ordering fries. not sure what the target market is, but with such a nice (pricey) menu it seemed odd that the restaurant was not filled with a more mature clientele. my only complaint is that it was difficult to get a reservation and when i received a callback to confirm, i was told we "only have the table for 1.5 hours". which i thought was really insulting especially when we seemed to be the only ones ordering several courses and a bottle of wine. i think that this restaurant could have a lot of success if it caters a bit more to patrons who are in a position to enjoy the fine menu as is offered at aydens, instead of pushing people through while catering to the french fry crowd who wear flip flops and ball caps to dinner on a saturday night.

yummy!. "yummy" is how guests from calgary described ayden's this week. my husband and i were actually there twice this week. once for a birthday dinner and once with guests from calgary. their sausage platter is a must and we tried the charcuterie platter which was a thumbs up for everyone. they butcher their own meat. i usually have a steak but the last time i tried the chicken dish. the chicken was so soft and melted in my mouth. it almost tasted like duck! family members also say the pasta is really good. if you are a foodie, this is the place to eat.

very nice.. the food was very good. the service was very good. the atmosphere is more 'busy casual' than i expected, we were looking for a 'date night' place to eat. we loved ayden and will be back, but not for an intimate night out.

we decided to have my brother-in-law's birthday dinner at ayden's, and phoned ahead to check if it would be okay if we brought his favourite homemade cupcakes with us for dessert. they told us that it was fine and that there would be no charge because they don't have to cut a cake or anything. when our bills came around we were nice enough to mention the wine that they forgot to add to our bill, but we asked about the $12 charge for "open food". they said it was for eating the cupcakes, even though we still ordered dessert from them as well. even though we were told there would be no cost, the manager refused to remove it from our bill, but was happy to add the charge for the wine that the server overlooked. usually when 4 people drop over $200 for a couple burgers, you expect them to put the customer first. as for the food, i guess tiny portions plus creative presentation is enough to please all the wannabe foodies out there, but by any honest reckoning the food itself was a small step above something like earl's or moxie's. $4 for a coke, $24 for a tiny portion of pasta without any side or garnish, $17 for 3 bland scallops, $5 for an order of fries the size of a small coffee cup, and so on. the hostess and waiter were great though. tipped big, but wouldn't recommend to anyone.

what a fantastic find during a recent visit to saskatoon. was the highlight of our trip as we were vacationing from edmonton and spending a cpl days here. food, atmosphere, and service were all exceptional! starting off with the rhubarb margaritas, so delicious, unique, and refreshing. the housemade sausage board consisting of flavours like chicken clubhouse, thai, and turkish... and with great condiments to accompany! we also shared the asparagus starter, white and green poached and topped with shaved truffles, and a perfectly poached egg... truffle aoli on the side, sooo yummy. scallops were also out of this world... kumquat, pork, lemon grass, nahm jim... taste every ingredient, and each bite so perfectly balanced... heaven! finished with the earl grey tea cake which was so beautifully presented, light flavours, but so tasty!

we were passing through saskatoon this weekend, and stopped in, due to ayden's gluten-free friendly status. unbelieveable. spectacular!
we started with the scallops...i can't begin to describe how amazing they tasted...the sauce was to die for, the scallops seared perfectly. i had the pork dish as my main. the paella was wonderful, the ham was so subtly smoked. fabulous.
my boyfriend had the pasta, and while i couldn't taste it, he assured me that it was phenomenal.
the service was friendly but not intrusive. very helpful. i asked for and spoke to the manager chris, and learned that one of the chefs had been on master chef (canada?). we thanked him profusely for the amazing meal. it was quite likely the best meal we've ever had.
we're from winnipeg and we're already planning a road trip back...for dinner. :)
