i've heard manygoodthings about the cafe at avoca and i finally got to see what all the fuss was about on sunday. the numerous flights of stairs don't seem to put people off, as we reached the top there was a queue of people waiting for a table. we waited roughly 10 minutes on some comfy couches for a table to free up. the place was packed and the room was quite big so they must have some very busy chefs.
the brunch menu has lots to offer such as pancakes, porridge, french toast, a full irish, you name it! i ordered the homemade granola with greek yogurt and mixed berry compote. the food arrived relatively quick and nicely presented. the granola was lovely and crunchy containing lots of nuts. the only downside was that there was little yogurt and far too much of the mixed berry compote. i watched the food going to other tables and i'm afraid i made the wrong choice. the staff were friendly and very on the ball. i would definitely return to try something else on the menu!
