shocked. they used to be top shelf, but something has gone wrong, clam cakes uncooked in the middle, fish and chips overcooked, i do not understand but as a native ri person, going here since i was a kid, what a disappointing
shame, i can tell by the sheer number of bad reviews i am not alone, too bad so sad, learned a lesson!!!

clam chowder sucked bland and thin lobster roll the same claw and knuckle meat no tail meat not as advertised on tv. what a disappointment mariners grill was a hundred time better

for great new england clam chowder, ri clam chowder, clam cakes and fried clams, aunt carrie's is for you.

there can be a wait, but the good is very much worth it.

superb freah fish. must say was a bit sceptic as i always am whenever i go to a seafood joint because of the smell. but here it was all fresh and you could taste it. the shrimps, the lobster, the fish. all were lip-smacking

the best clam cakes and chowder in ri. you can't beat em'! i wish i could eat them all the time. this place is a must see, it's a great rhode island tradition!

clam cake-umongous!. love their over-sized clam cakes: with salt, malted vinegar or for dipping into the "clear" styled chowda.. however, other fast-food style seafood items(clam strips, fish'n chips, stuffies etc.) are not up to par. the clear(ri) chowder is pretty good if you like such style-simple with good amount clams..

terrible. after a fun day at block island, my boyfriend and i decided to go and end the day with delicious sea food dinner. we decided to try aunt carry's restaurant because it was on our way home. the chowder i ordered tasted like flavorless white water with clams and potatoes. i had never had such horrible clam chowder. the lemonade i got had the same problem; it tasted like water. the fish and chips my boyfriend had was flavorless. the fries tasted like frozen fries and the fish was dry and tasteless.... i will never go there again...

disappointing and terrible awful fishy experience!. laura was a great waitress, which is the only good thing we have to say about this place. the whole famile had a variety of different dishes and all where equally plain, tasteless, and not what we expected from a new england experience. we would not recommend this place, if you like good tasty, not so greasy, seafood. very sorry to have to write this note, but maybe it will save others from the experience we had.

sat 7/12: short wait for dining room. waiter (young man) was excellent - attentive & quick!!!
sorry, very disappointed in food; perhaps worst i've had in 50 years of seafood!!!!
* my wife and i didn't like the fried clams (whole). i'm not a cook but i'm guessing they were fried in old oil, and fried too long.
* cole slaw served with my plate was simple chopped stuff and plain????. it needed som...ething else.
* steam clams were good. steam clam broth was great for sipping - skip the butter dipping and leave sand at bottom of cup.
* my wife liked the "clam fritters" (they are not "clam cakes) but i didn't. i expected more of a clam taste? than bread.
* my wife liked the scollups but, for me, they had some unnatural (cooked?) flavoring.
* french fries, and cinnamon bread were good.
..... oh and.. the ice cream across the street was good ..... but they need an outside faucet to wash up with afterwards.
it was my first time there. i'll try some other place next time, thank you...

place looked charming, classic new england family restaurant. we were all really disappointed with the food and service. tables around us were left dirty the whole time we were there for lunch. fried clams were over cooked and oily, calamari was very undercooked and the white chowder was awful , not a single clam in the whole cup, seriously! the hamburger was soo greasy we had to unstack it and blot it on a paper towel.disappointing

i wanted to like this lobster roll a lot more than i did. but, the bread was everything i dreamed it could be, just not right for a lobster roll.

soooooo disappointing. my 1st trip to aunt carrie's was and will be my last trip to aunt carrie's. had the combo clam cakes/chowder. chowder was watery thin and lacked in flavor. calm cakes should actually be called clam fritters instead. was sooo disappointed and wasted my hard earned money. won't be returning.

fresh seafood, homemade pies and friendly service.

lovely atmosphere, great chowder, fresh and simple seafood...adore that it is byob. come by this summer after a swim!

it wasn't until i came to rhovde island did i find the best clamcakes. aunt carries has good size cakes loaded with clams. they're not pasty like the ones at iggy's. the chowders have become watery over the last few years. the service is fast and the choice of eating outside, to go, or inside makes the experience that much better. the remainder of the seafood has always been very good for us. when you order at the counter you're able to watch them cook the food. if you go, don't forget to order a fresh baked cinnamon raisin bread.
