atlanta highway seafood market

we had our mom day dinner tonight and eat some good seafood. i had the jumbo shrimp and some goooood gumbo. you need to try thisplaceif you love seafood like we do.

we had lunch at the atlanta seafood market today and it was great. we had scallops and shrimp grilled. the hushpuppies are made with sweet corn in them. sooooo gooood ya'll need to try thisplaceit you like fresh seafood.

neighborhood gem. i had the shrimp platter today and it was great. the hushpuppies were to die for. the shrimp were large and lightly breaded and very plump. the restuarant was clean and the staff were very friendly. if you love seafood, this is the best you will find without going to the coast.

so good. the seafood is very fresh and selections are many! thisplacecooks it to your liking. hush puppie are so good and the perfect size. be sure to come hungry because you won't want to leave a bight on your plate. plan on taking my sister there for lunch tomorrow! not a fancyplacebut excellent food and service!

awesome!. i just went here for my first time with my grandparents for dinner. i thought i had been eating real fried oysters all along. boy, was i so so wrong! these were real oysters. and they just melted in my mouth. the shrimp is huge! everything is so fresh. the hushpuppies are good. it only costed 34 dollars for all 3 of us to eat there including our drinks. and for fresh seafood that is a great price. and the portion is perfect. friendly staff. i can't believe thisplaceis in gainesville of all places. i hope they are able to get a biggerplacesoon to accommodate their customer base. we got there around 4:45 and good thing too because when we left the customers started piling in! i can not wait to go back here again.

atlanta highway seafood market. friends asked us to lunch here after early church today. we live about 30 minutes away and they suggested we be there by 11:15 or so to beat the crowd. what a good call that was! we got a table immediately but it was full with people waiting when we left. there are only 15 or 20 tables. market is next door to the restaurant. we ordered and ate. this was the best fried shrimp and freshest i've had in a long time. the fried oysters were a little bit over-battered to my liking but the shrimp were perfect. hush puppies were good. everything was good; owners and wait staff friendly; and theplacewas small and not fancy but immaculate. all fish and shellfish in the market looked and smelled very fresh. it's a little bit of a jaunt for us but we will go back soon. they have grilled choices as well as fried and crab cakes and crab legs. they sell clams and mussels in the market but i didn't see them on the menu. prices are very inexpensive for seafood. (crab $17.50/lb compared to $30/lb at another local market.) the gumbo was very good, not the traditional roux-based, but very good anyway. all seafood is wild caught. excellent!

why are you reading this? go!!!. if you want better seafood, prepare to drive a few hundred miles down to the gulf, and you may not get it, even then. if they piped-in seagull noises, you would swear you were in a certain destin seafood shack. great selection of fresh fish to go, fantastic fried/broiled/blackened dine-in options. i haven't posted a review before now b/c i figured the how good it was the first time was a fluke. a dozen or so visits later, i am still impressed.

the only negative i can think of is the crowd at lunch/dinner. parking can be a pain, but if you can't find a space, you won't be able to get a table, either. not going to complain though, b/c the crowds mean thisplacehas been around for a while and will stay around. get there early.

the best in north georgia. if you like seafood then this is the onlyplaceyou need to go.all the other so called fish places around here are not hitting on it at all.prices are great and frankly they could charge more.red lobster does and they don't even come close.the folks are gonna get tired of me cause this is myplaceto eat fish and i love seafood as much as anything other than my greek mom's cooking growing up.

yes!!!!. you're not going to get off cheap here, although it is well worth it!!! the snow crab legs are amazing!!! oh my gosh! i used to eat at red lobster, have eaten at avalon in south beach, fl., joe's crab shack, in sc, and toucans in mexico beach, fl. while the crab legs are amazing in fl., they are almost just as good here at ahsm. do not pass thisplaceup if you're in the gainesville area. you will be impressed!

this was a surprise. got lost and thought we were on the wrong side of the tracks but there was a sign for the market. talking fresh fish, yep and good. if i could take thisplacehome along with the oar house in dahlonega, i would be a happy person

i lived on the coast in florida for over 20 years, and thisplacecan hang with any seafoodplaceon the coast, and surpass most. the owners are wonderful they are so helpful in your picking of their fresh seafood selections to take home. everything is good, and you can get a grouper po boy for under $10...i never saw that in florida. also, it is super clean, and for a restaurant and seafood market that is impressive. there is never a bad fishy odor. i love this place.

always good. best seafood in town. all of the menu us good. thisplaceis frankin' awesome! ha!

i lived in san francisco for three years & regularly ate at spengers in berkley (the bay area's best) the seafood at atlanta hwy seafood is every bit as good

thisplaceis wonderful. we love the oysters!!

simply the bestplaceanywhere to eat. my family has literally been to destin and been wanting to come home just to eat at the seafood market. cannot be beat!

good fresh seafood. the fried catfish was very good and the gumbo was great. there are a lot of seafood and cajun selections on the menu. even though it is a seafood market it was very clean and a niceplaceto eat.

fresh great seafood. my friends shared their shrimp po-boy sandwich and seafood platter with me before and it was amazing and made me want to visit them, so i stopped by takeout. when i heard they are on atlanta hwy, i needed to think twice, but thisplacewas so clean and their sea food on display was very fresh looking. the person who took my order was very friendly too. he told me that they are from biloxi. while waiting, he let me taste gumbo and ceviche (chopped cooked fish salad with fresh tomato, onion, cilantro etc.) and they were both great. ceviche is for people who like spicy hot though. i ordered mexican shrimp on rice (one of their daily specials), homemade egg rolls, and grilled shrimp po-boy and they were all excellent. i highly recommend this place.
