fantastic food, but sloooooow and quite expensive.. if you go for a meal, you'll need to shave before the food arrives. however, it's agreatplace if you go there for wine with some good company and treat the food as a side attraction. taste was fantastic. the octopus appetizer and the shrimp gnocchi were to die for. i licked the plate, seriously.

tasty food, friendly service. i went by myself on saturday night to go over some documents. i was greeted at the door by a friendly hostess who offered to stash by longboard.

i promptly ordered a cocktail - the med - delicious, like a mohito but with fresh basil instead of mint (or perhaps as well - i can't remember) it was very good, slightly pricey compared to the menu at 10$ but worth it for all the muddling that went into it.

the bartender tookgreatcar of me, and gave me suggestions when asked. i ended up starting with a dip (these are hidden on the last page with the desserts so make sure you don't miss them) at $4 agreatlittle app, i had a creamy cheese dip. the pitas were soft and warm just like i like them.

the main menu is in 2 sections - greek meze (traditional greek) and the second section which is euro-fusion. i wanted some veg (small plates tend to be lacking in this dept) so i had the village salad. nicely presented with lots of feta (a huge rectangle), kalamata, tomatos, peppers, red onions and a vigin olive oil vinagrette. simple and delicious

lastly i had the loukaniko - zesty greek sausage tossed with caramelized fennel and orange zest. i have to admit i didn't read the menu very carefully and ordered this because of one word : fennel

i should have realized that caramelized fennel probably meant there wasn't a lot of it, and there was only about 3 small pieces. lots of delicious orange flavor in this dish and really heavy on the sausage. after the dip and salad i didn't really have much room for it but the bartender insisted i take it home (i'm eating it now for lunch!)

the bartender told me the region for the wines when i asked about them (this information was included on the menu) but didn't seem to have much else to add to it. they have retsina by the glass for those who like this odd wine, and also another greek wine which unfortunately they were out of. they do have some canadian wines represented and i ended up going with the angels gate riesling which went nicely with my salad.

for a saturday night it didn't seem terribly busy, which is why i decided to go in by myself and with work even though it was 7pm on saturday. i think they were a bit overstaffed (which surprises me because another comment was that they were under staffed so maybe it was an odd night) the servers didn't seem very busy, and one actually gave the hostess a bit of a hard time regarding the order in which she was seating people. this happens at a lot of restaurants but shouldn't happen in front of guests and i especially felt strongly about it since i had had such a positive first impression upon walking into armoa meze because of that hostess. she had a bit of a high and might attitude that i've seen at many family run restos and if i had to guess i would say she might be a daughter of an owner. many people don't realize that the hostess has one of the most stressful jobs at the front house (i've been there) - so be nice to her!

all in all agreatexperience.

great food - expensive wine. after reading agreatreview on line a group of us decided to try aroma out before we went to the nac. service was good, the food wasgreatespecially the gnocchi that i had and the wine seemed overpriced for what was offered. will try again soon!

gastronomy at its purest meaning. bravissimo !!! simply amazing.greatambiance. have to go there sooner, because it got very noisy when it was full. the plates were undescriptable. we took 6-7 plates (3 persons) and we were full. i'm the kind of guy who eat a whole dinner and who is hungry after 15 minutes. i'll return there for sure !

my husband and i went for dinner and did not leave disappointed. we had the tomatoe fritters, zucchini cakes, cheese baked seafood, pan seared scallops with wasabi caviar, lobster tails, fish tacos, lamb tacos, camel tenderloin with foie gras and black truffle, and the to die for lamb poutine! we also had the baklava ice cream and the orange sorbet. we left with our stomachs full!!! we had also ordered a tomatoe baked rice but when we started slowing down on the meal and mentioned to the waiter that we were getting really full, he canceled our other items for us and told the kitchen not to fire them! that'sgreatservice because at many other restaurant, they fire the food anyways so that they can charge you for it. this is by far on of the best tapas/meze/small plates places we have been to. not crazy expensive like play or side door and an elaborate menu that has us wanting to go back to try everything else. i think there were maybe 50+ items on the menu, which is rare for a tapas place. the atmosphere was also very nice and romantic. also agreatplace to take my gluten free friends with all the gf items on the menu! can't wait to go back!!!

great food andgreatservice!. love the food. the dips are all good (my fav is the garlic puree). my goal is to try everything on the menu because it's all so good. i've tried the chirozo, lamb sliders, fish tacos, lamb tacos, keftedes,gnocchi...phenomenal.

the service is great. really friendly, helpful and accommodating.

and 99% of the menu is gluten free!! so i didn't feel as guilty eating like a pig.

middle-of-the-road food for the price, long waits, and poor execution.. i went with a group for a work lunch. due to the size of our group, we ordered two days in advance in order to simplify things. this place serves greek inspired tapas, so we were told to order at least three to four items, as the plates were small.

it’s a very nicely decorated little place. the restaurant is located in a house that they converted so the layout reflects that. the front seating area is where i imagine the living room was. to get to where we were seated in back of the house, you went down a narrow hall past the bathrooms and kitchen.

we arrived at noon on the dot and took our seat. drinks were ordered and served. everyone was having a good time while we patiently waited for our food. an hour had passed and nothing came out. no salads or appetizer like plates. our patience began to wane as many of us had busy schedules. another fifteen minutes later and a few plates started trickling out of the kitchen. by one thirty, i had yet to see any of my food. an hour and a half for small plates that we had pre-ordered? unfortunately that was the case for 99 percent of our party. some of the other one percent received all his or her dishes at once, which everyone found odd. people started grumbling and to be honest i had pretty much lost my appetite since it was going on two o’clock. when the food finally arrived, most of us wolfed it down, as we needed to get back to work. the food was pricey for what you get, so getting it late only made things worse. some people did not get their food until two o’clock. two hours for measly chicken brochettes! the greek poutine that soundedgreaton the menu was dismal. for 10 dollars we received a small bowl of tepid fries with stone cold st. albert curds, a few pieces of stewed lamb, and gravy. the curds were the only redeeming quality of the dish. the 10-dollar pulled lamb tacos came out after a nearly two-hour wait with burnt tortillas. the tacos are about the size of a small coaster were also cold. this story repeated itself through out our time there. by that time everyone just wanted to leave because this “lunch” was taking way longer then anyone expected. in some cases people were asking for their bills before receiving any food. blackberries and smart phones were abuzz as people scrambled to reschedule meetings. others just left their money with someone else to pay and left. the poor souls who were served last did not get out of there until 2:30 in some cases.

the waiter did his best under the circumstances. complaints to the owner were met by feeble excuses that i considered unprofessional. do not blame customers for you lack of preparedness. whining that we are large group and the restaurant is busy does not negate the fact that a two-hour wait for pre-ordered food is unreasonable at the prices you charge. this was a cash cow for your establishment. i have gone to many work and social events and have never had this happen.

i doubt we’ll be back.

gluten-free friendly. this place has amazing food. we tried the moussaka, honey sausages and "greek poutine" (yukon gold fries with melted kefalotiri cheese and garlic-mint aioli), which were all memorably delicious. gluten-free items were marked on the menu withgreatattention to detail - such as noting things from the menu descriptions that seemed gf, but that were actually not. highly recommended for gf patrons and "normals" alike.
