second vist. only get to the area once a year..... breakfast heading out of town has been, and will continue to be at arnie's café. excellent food, outstanding service, and they make visitors feel at home..chickenfried steak and eggs... last time was biscuits and gravy.. both were super..

people were telling us how great arnie's was, so we decided to try them. i had their "famous"chickenfried steak and eggs and it was decent, but nothing special. my wife had the spanish omelette and also found it decent, but nothing special. service was a little lacking, not uncommon with diners. it was a decent, but we will not go out of our way to go back..

a reasonable enough diner catering to locals. had the strawberry waffle and no complaints. had some of my wife'schickenfried steak and it was good as well. just don't expect anything extra like real cream or maple syrup.

jerry hanneman. i have enjoyed theirchickenfried steak on many occasions. unfortunately, the one i had yesterday had a coating that was so over salted it would choke you. i don't mind that they raised their prices awhile back because if something is good, i'll pay for it.

my complaint here is that after taking two small bites, i told the waitress that it was over salted. i got a song and dance about making the coating when ordered and the cook probably got a little heavy handed with the salt. no offer was made to replace the steak. i ate my eggs, toast and hash browns. the steak went home and got fed to the crows.

i won't be back.
