great wood-fired pizza and great service on the fringe of the most touristy part of town. my wife and i both ordered the canadese pizza, mine was straight up, and my wife substituted goat cheese for mozzarella since she can't have cow cheese. i also ordered the garlic bread with cheese and a silversmith black lager. our server was very responsive and available when we needed her, which is good because we happened to come in around 2pm, so it was less busy. there were still a good number of people in though, so even in the afternoon lull this place is far from dead.
the garlic bread appeared to have been baked in the oven as well, although not fresh from scratch, as it looked as if the pieces were thick slices off a larger loaf and then baked again to melt the cheese. they did not automatically supply dipping marinara sauce for it, but they brought it promptly when asked, and i don't think there was any extra charge.
the pizzas came out hot and very delicious! the canadese has pepperoni, mozzarella, red sauce, and bacon, although if you're from the states, it's canadian bacon of course, more like super thin-sliced ham and nothing like the strips we eat with a big breakfast in the u.s. my wife especially loved the crust, and i have to agree that it was excellent! the entire feel was like that of what you'd get at any of the fantastic pizzerias you find all through upstate new york, so it has a thin crust that is just short of turning crispy and is easy to fold.
the beer selection here has a few drafts, all of which seemed to be craft beers, and they were awesome about letting you have a taste to decide what you want to order.
this was a great find for awesome pizza in a town that tends to be overloaded with boring suburban u.s. chain restaurants!
