anthony's coal fired pizza

yum! went for lunch on a sunday. place was clean, staff friendly, and great beer selection! we had the grilled wings as an appetizer which comes out in a beautifl presentation in a skillet with sauted onions and grilled flat bread. while the wings lack a spicy kick, they are moist and flavorful. we ordered a large pie with pepperoni and italian sauage. it was crisp and full offlavorand big enough to take some home. i normally dont like chains, but i will be back for another great pie and cold beer. the decor is kind of cliche ny, but the music is good, the staff friendly so it all works. they also have a bar and wine. check them out!

love this place..... the staff is so friendly and attentive. i really like the pizza and wings; they both have a unique flavor. their beer selection is decent. a complaint would be that, if you get toppings, they put too many on the pizza. it takes away so much from theflavorof the actual pizza. also, the salad selection is not great. the crust is a little bit burnt, but i like a crispy crust. my wife and i go all the time.

great 1st impression. went for the first time and got the philly cheese steak pizza and their wings. very good on both. yes, the pizza has a char to the crust, but it didn't taste charred. deliciousflavorwith seasoned steak chunks and caramelized onions. the wings also come smothered in onions and are some of the best i ever had. we tried the ribs as well, but found them to be a little too spicy for some tastes. they are covered in hot peppers and weren't as meaty as i would have liked. the service was very good, our server was great and the manager made a point to come over and speak to us. very clean dining area and bathrooms. i do agree with reviews regarding the bottled drinks. it is too pricey not to get a refill. step up to fountain service and brewed tea, anthony's. overall, you should give them a try at least once. you will want to go back.

best pizza in tampa. my wife and i are both unanimous that anthony's is the best pizza that we have ever had period. i grew up in the midwest on great deep-dish pizza like buddy's pizza in dearborn and uno's pizzeria in chicago and i never understood why my friends from new york raved about their pizza until i first tried anthony's coal fired pizza in carrollwood. they bake their pies in a coal-fired oven at 800 degrees, which sears in theflavorand gives the crust a nice char, and make their sauce with fresh plum tomatoes and top with fresh whole milk mozz. it is so simple, but yet the flavors are amazing! the crust is a perfect balance of thin, but not too thin and you can taste the freshness. also, i have never been a fan of wings, but their coal-fired wings topped with caramelized onions are awesome too! everyone that come to visit us from out of town, always get taken to anthony's. a++

very tasty. being that pizza is one of the most popular things to eat in the u.s. there is always a lot to choose from. this is a more authentic pizza. its decently thin, and cooked in a coal fired oven. that method leaves a little char on the pizza which i think addsflavorand character. the sauce and cheese they use is great. i must also mention the wings. they are baked in the same coal oven and have such wonderfulflavor(rosemary and garlic) there are 3 of these in the general area. the carrollwood one is kinda hidden, so be heads up when looking for it.

anthony's coal fired wings!. if you ae looking for the real deal on pizza night, then this is it. coal fired ovens at 800 degrees adsflavorgalore. after all it was coal fire ovens that made ray's famous in new york. the pizza is very good with fresh ingredience and worth the trip, but the wings knocked me out. no sauce, but baked inflavorof herbs and spices. fall off the bone tender topped with carmalized onions. like no other place. a++
