i continue to be confused by the lack of recognition of this place! the food should not fall under the category of pub food. the food us much more sophisticated than that. i consistantly havegreatfood here and i eat here atleast once a week. i ate a 2 big name restaurants in town in the last two weeks that claimed to have risotto. it was rice pilaf not risotto. abl has amazing rid every day. theirs apps and soups are amazing. they honestly can compete with any major "baltimore top 50" restaurant. baltimore magazine needs to wake up. eat here! you will love it!

if you have not tried duck fat fries then are certifiably insane! you will never be able to have any other fries again! oh yea, the rest of the food is just as delicious.greatatmosphere, seats about 40 people.

i loved the whole vibe of this outlet. it was a nice experience. i thoroughly enjoyed my food and had agreattime there. the staff was welcoming too.

a canton/highletown must visit. my fiance and i found this gem via urbanspoon and it was absolutely incredible. the beer selection is fantastic and the duck fat french fries are to die for. i had the corn flour crusted tilapia with corn and crab salsa special and it was absolutely amazing, my fiance had the tuna panini and she said it was to die for. i highly recommend this place to anyone who is remotely near the baltimore area, incredible food,greatambience andgreatservice, will definitely be back again

great experience!!. we had agreatexperience going to the annabel lee tavern. the owner did it right by havinggreatfood,greatart, and experience all in canton. the food quality was superb. i had the "annapolis", which was crab meat spread over top of chicken on a ciabatta bread with "upgraded" jalapeno fries. here is my ranking:
service: service was quick and fast, but the personalities of the staff were very dry.
ambiance:greatart and look to the tavern.greatlocal beers
price: i thought the price was excellent for the quality of food.
overall: excellent time and will be back!!

i've been wanting to try annabel lees for a while now and finally got my chance. the food was just as good as i was hoping. the atmosphere isgreatand the bartender could not have been more helpful with drink and food suggestions. we got the sweet potato fries for and appetizer and they were awesome! both of our meals were delicious too. i will definitely be going back!

best food i've had so far in baltimore. atmosphere was great. don't miss the seafood bisque. don't miss the crab imperial stuffed shrimp over white wine risotto. sweet potato fries with a hint of spicy kick. chicken salad, best i've had anywhere.greatbeer selection (ask for samples!). all around agreatexperience.

moved from new jersey and instantly was turned on to annabel lees. best food in the city and agreatatmosphere. small and quaint. call ahead on busy nights unless you don't mind waiting at bar. will be one of my favorites for a long time. all food usgreatand fantastic weekly specials. manager is super nice, and don't forget the duck fat fries. to die for.

great bar andgreatfood. this is a wonderful casual place to get a meal and a drink with friends. this is an interesting place where you can see people dressed to the nines or people who are sometimes a bit too casual rubbing elbows. they all have something in common. they are having a hell of a good time here. i came by after a ball game with friends who introduced me and it has turned into my go to place after a difficult day, a ballgame or hey an anniversary.

nice place. went here back in february with a friend who is a huge poe fan, i honestly had never even heard of the place. its small, nice, and quiet. we ordered the duck fat fries, salad, and the blue cheese steak. the food wasgreatand very fresh. the only issue i had with the place is the very poor beer selection. sorry baltimore, i love you, but i hate natty bo beer! at that time, they had a very poor beer selection, but looking at the menu, seems that they've improved it. i'd probably go back here.

anothergreatcorner bar. my wife and i were very excited about trying annabel lee after hearinggreatthings about it, so we went there with very high expectations. those expectations were met, and then some! the staff was very attentive, and pleseant, the beer selection was good, and the food was outstanding. they seemed to have found that formula that works when recreating an old highlandtown corner bar!!!

late nite ... don't sleep on annabel lee. recently discovered the late night menu. oh so scrumptious chicken nachos. best i've ever had...and agreatportion size. the pizza fries are worth a whirl too.

the gyro!. i'm greek, so i've had a lot of gyros in my lifetime. annabel lee does that sandwich some serious justice. my favorite is the gyro "platter" or the small plate salmon. either one of those coupled with a glass of resurrection hits the spot. yum! ... not to mention, the restaurant is affordable.

but, get there early -- or late -- they get super packed from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

horrid service.. honestly, i was excited to try out annabel lee. for the beer. for the food. for the supposedly terrific atmosphere. we did with a group of 4 of us on a mid-week night. and it was an awful experience. the whole place was freezing cold and when we decided to say something to our waiter (pointing out that most patrons still had their coats on), they shut us down saying they can't do anything about it because it will get hot in there when more people show up. when a fifth person arrived to join our party, we were given all sorts of hell and the bill was thrown in our face. we left almost immediately... it was clear they weren't into serving another person as they wanted to keep it open for another whole party to arrive. while we weren't throwing back beers withgreatabandon, we were paying customers and we were not lingering unreasonably long. thumbs down.

this place is what baltimore does best and most unique. take an old corner bar (and what corner doesn't have one) covered in that abomination known as formstone that ruined canton and fells point, tastefully and simply fix it up and serve really good upscale "comfort food". if you really want to succeed go beyond just pub food, don't try to be all things to everyone and play the greatest hits of a 50's milwaukee supper club on your sound system.

the food is terrific. the best the duck fat fries. for once you can actually taste the duck fat in these properly cooked fries. the salads aregreatwith fresh clean greens, i especially enjoyed the flank steak salad with a nice mesclun base, mustard horseradish dressing and a crispy onion topping. (more steak please). i also recommend the madiera/orzo/mushroom soup. mostly, i like the fact that there are about 8 specials every night that keep the menu changing with the season? the chef's whim? i don't care.

brewers' art resurrection on tap and a fair cross section of beers from the world offset the poor wine list. i'm not a cocktail fan but i have to say i love the "into the maelstrom" a dark & stormy kicked up by 151.

yes, please.. cute, intimate, huge portions,greatfood. love it!
