nice place and the menu looked good. would have liked to try the food but the service was terrible. haven't seen anything that bad for a long time.

my boyfriend is a fan of the place, more so for tequila than anything else, so i end up coming here every so often. drinks are great but food is not. it's not authentic mexican at all, tacos from my experience are just okay... pricing is honestly insane for tacos that aren't even good. guacamole is delicious but the pricing is steep. many other places i'd go for a lot better mexican.

this restaurant has great mexican cuisine! i really enjoy the tacos here. the price of the food is decent considering the flavours of the dishes and also the service. i would say the service is good, but not outstanding. there is a lot of street parking available. i definitely will come back to try other dishes and cocktails.

i had one of my more notable experiences here in all the wrong ways. this took place some time ago but it was so bad i was determined to leave a review. i was with a few friends.. we had gone to the lilac festival and decided to come here because it was on our way. it was a party of 6 and it didn't take long for us to be seated. we ordered margaritas and waited to order our food. we did not see anyone for another 15 minutes ... our server had seemingly forgotten we had already ordered drinks and asked us what we wanted to drink again when she came to get our food orders. we placed those, she apologised and brought our drinks pretty quickly. then yet again we didn't see anyone for another 20 minutes at which point i started asking other servers if they knew where our server was. all told it took over an hour from when we walked in to when we got our meals. they were cold (not an exaggeration) and very bland. a few people on the table complained and asked to get new meals but i was to hungry and impatient for that. when the server came back to the table with the meals for those who requested new meals she said this "just so you guys know, for tables of 7 or more there is an automatic 15% gratuity". i couldn't believe what i had just heard, she was essentially saying even though we have been shitty and i've been a terrible server you're gonna have to tip me. unfortunately for her she was not so clever at maths and there were only 6 of us at the table, something we made sure to point out and asked to talk to the manager. he ended up giving the people who had complained earlier their meals for free and sending us a free jug of margarita. this is without question one of the most terrible experiences i've ever had at a restaurant and i've been to alot of them.

great food, mediocre service. prices are slightly steep. we had the guac which was freshly made in front of you as well as the snapper, chicken and wild boar tacos. on a friday night, this place is hopping, so be sure to make a reservation.

good food. great service. split the guac and some fish/pork tacos. not cheap but neither is mission. margaritas are great with good diversity. happy 3rs anniversary!

great environment, place is really comfortable, the food is amazing, and they have their own special tricks which is amazing, people are really friendly too

probably one of the best places to hang out in mission, anejo is a casual mexican tapas spot offering good drinks and food.

the best bang for your buck is probably the tacos. for a set of six they run about $26 (one is $5). basically every filling you could want is available from beef and fish to wild boar and mushrooms. most of the tacos are loaded with fillings, the crispy snapper is the only exception because it's one long chunk of crunchy fried fish. the mushroom and corn was actually a nice enjoyable surprise. maybe the juiciest filing with the moist, plump mushrooms. i found the other meats a bit dry, but decent for tacos.

one of the best things to get on the menu is the guacamole. it's made right in front of you in a stone bowl and is a nice creamy consistency to spread on the tortilla chips. there's also a lot of ingredients crushed into it with no flavour overwhelming the other. good use of cilantro, jalapeño and tomato.

end the meal with the churros. they're really crunchy and the sweet dipping sauce is fantastic.

finally as a casual place to hang out, give the margaritas a try. they run just under $10 for an 1.5 oz, but they're a refreshing drink on a hot day. especially if you're relaxing on the patio. if you want something a bit harder, anejo's tequila selection is incredible. hundreds of varieties to choose from. after indulging in a flight, it's difficult not to have a good time.

the best guacamole around! and the tacos are super amazing. my favourite was definitely the wild boar and chicken. if you want cheap tacos and margaritas, be sure to check out their daily happy hour.

when i go to anejo, it's either to get one of their amazing margaritas which i always pair with their even just as amazing guacamole - prepared right in front of you!
the rest of the food on the menu is good (tacos, anyone?) but be warned, it is a bit on the expensive side.
anejo is a vibrant place, super lively and opened till late. plus they have a nice patio and they play movies all the time (no sound obviously). where else could you have tequila shots while watching top gun and eating tortilla chips with guac, uh?!

i like the bustling ambiance of this restaurant and the service was pretty good. the delicious, creamy guacamole is enough to share with a few friends and i love how they make it table side. i had the crispy snapper taco but it was quite disappointing. the batter was really oily and hard. the beef short rib taco was okay, it wasn't that flavorful. i had the churros for dessert and i enjoyed it. it came out piping hot and the texture was perfect. the outside was crispy and the inside was still soft and creamy and how could i forgot the yummy dulce de leche dipping sauce. the churro was already too sweet for my liking but the flavor of the dip was good i couldn't resist.

another wonderful evening at anejo. great food, great drinks. i had the feature watermelon margarita - yum! the wild boar taco is so good! awesome service too. one of my favourite places in the city.

anejo has a great atmosphere - cool, hip and seems to always be busy but in a good way. their tequila cocktails are delicious and as for the food, my favourites are the crispy snapper and chicken tacos! they're super flavourful.

been here a couple times and will continue to go back! the service was great, and the food was even better. we got the guacamole, tacos and 2 margaritas! the guacamole is amazing and they make it right in front of you, super cool. the tacos was pretty good, but i've have had better. the margaritas are fantastic! it's a cute place, looks small from the outside, but actually has quite a few tables once you get in there and the atmosphere is awesome. love it here.

i normally always get great service here. the food is great and always comes out fast. however the last time i visited my friend and i booked a reservation way in advanced and when we arrived we were seated right away. the only problem was my friend had just suffered a back injury and when we asked to be re seated at a table with higher backs the waitress brushed off the request and told us to sit side by side on the bench which was very cramped as the table next to us was full. there were plenty of other open tables available and after rolling her eyes at us the waitress then said that those tables were reserved. we sat uncomfortably during the meal and the so called reserved tables never filled the entire time we were there. pretty disappointed in the service we received and i have yet to be back.
