came here for a lunch with a party of 9. we had wine tasting first which was complimentary when ordering a meal, otherwise it's $10 per person for 5 samples. for the meal we ordered the 3 course set meal with wine pairing. there was 2 additional taster courses and 4 wines in total. the meal was excellent. we were all very satisfied at the end. the wines were very nice too. the main highlight was the roast lamb, absolutely superb.

we also ordered the dessert surprise, which was a delicious souffle.

the atmosphere was good and the staff excellent. the weather was perfect, which always helps. we enjoyed a game of petanque at the end and strolled the grounds.

all in all an excellentexperienceand i will definitely be back.

visited wednesday with 7 friends and was very disappointed
service was poor and the chiefs choice which was our only option for food was very poor
staters were terrine with a small loaf of bread entree was salmon and a bowl of kale
the main was a shoulder of slow cooked lamb with a sprinkling of potato, no greens offered
$75 a head extremely poor value for money no where near their usual standard
have been to amisfield many times before but this badexperiencewill mean none of us who were there will visit again

an absolute must do for anyone visiting the area. we came here for a cheeseboard and bottle of wine and i have to say myexperiencewas hard to fault. exceptional service, great wine and the cheeseboard was a delightful collection of delicious new zealand cheeses. can't wait to return to this beautiful icon. peta smith

beautiful setting and historically has been a must see favourite every visit in queenstown but .... things have changed i'll keep this review to the point

- rude staff trying to inform us of where champagne is from... we know. middle aged brunette wasn't helpful at all.

- crayfish wasn't fresh, the 80s broth needs to go. are fine dinning restaurants still doing this ?

-oysters were not good, so salty

-the only dish to save the day was the slow cooked lamb. this was beautiful

fingers crossed the lady serving us is fired and this place goes back to how it was. i'm hoping ourexperiencewas just down to this lady's manner

amisfield bistro is a solid 10/10!

the food was exceptional with the wine complementing the food andexperiencevery well! you're set in the heart of otago wine country and at the base of the remarkables so it's picture perfect.

if in queenstown this place is a must!

in a nutshell food was 10/10 service was about a 2. very slow on ordering and delivering drinks. having to ask for more water and pouring yourself is not what i would expect. meals were very slow due to the fact our meal was given to the table next to us even though they didn't order that. food was exceptional though and at the end of the day that's why i go places.

went back in 2019 and as a 3 chef hat restaurants theexperiencewas to die for... one of the best i’ve had. every dish well thought out and so much flavour. loved it

another reviewer wrote this:

"the service was faultless, the venue beautiful and the wine divine. if we had chosen our own items from the menu to share we believe ourexperiencecould have been fantastic"

and i couldn't agree more.
as we were pushed for time, we decided on trust the chef to try and maximise the different kinds of food we tasted in the short space of time.
the wine tasting and surroundings were beautiful, and even a chilly rainy day outside was softened by a cosy roaring fire inside.

the service was exceptional, and the staff had excellent knowledge of the food and wine.
the trust the chef food was delicious and beautifully presented, however it wasn't quite adventurous enough for us, and we were a little disappointed.

we also didn't have time for dessert, and by the looks of the menu i think i would have thoroughly enjoyed lingering over dessert/coffee.

next time we go we will make sure we have enough time to enjoy the menu properly (and have dessert!)

(we loved the wine enough to send a case home though)

kinda disappointed with this place. we were excited to visit this place from auckland but found the whole place quite touristy and not very intimate. we wanted to do a wine tour andexperiencethe winery but were told this wasn't an option when we booked. only place to do wine tasting was the cellar which you had to stand in and didn't seem that nice. food was good but nothing amazing. the worst and slimiest carpaccio i have ever eaten. lucky the wine was good

as true foodies we had drooled over the mouth watering menu for months. finally having an occasion to celebrate the four of us opted for the 'trust the chef' selection at $60 pp (plus 20% surcharge as it was a public holiday) as we couldn't decide and wanted everything!
the first course of salmon was everything we expected, perfectly cured with a subtle beetroot flavour and beautifully presented.
then, spaghetti bolognaise, pan fried sole with potatoes roast rib eye with horseradish and lettuce. what an epic disappointment. all well cooked mid-week meals you would prepare for your family. not the kind of food you would expect to pay over $70 each for in an award winning restaurant.
the service was faultless, the venue beautiful and the wine divine. if we had chosen our own items from the menu to share we believe ourexperiencecould have been fantastic, however on the strength of our disappointment we won't be returning.

the food was excellent, however the waitress made theexperienceless pleasant. we were half an hour late because of a road accident on the way. she was annoyed and made us feel rushed. other than that it was brilliant. i wish we could have enjoyed it better.

excellent every time we dine here. the 'trust the chef' selection is a great way to go taking the hard choices right out of your hands. local produce seem to be used where possible and the staff will even tell you where you can go locally to buy some of the produce to take home. not the place for a quick lunch as the wholeexperienceneeds to be savoured. the wines are of course also excellent. great outside dining area and on a cool day they even provide you with a blanket for your knee, a great and much appreciated service touch (it is central otago after all). our favourite stop on the way to wanaka.
