needs a tune-up!. i must start out by saying that the food was phenomenal and i was impressed by the wine selection. however, there were a few goings on among the staff that was less than pleasing. as a quiet guest in the bar within the last week or so, i noticed a lot. as having been employed in the restaurant industry for many of my younger years, i know what a well-run establishment looks like. alleia was not cutting it. there were a couple of male employees with long, unwashed hair. when i asked one of them for directions to the restroom, he reeked of alcohol. hopefully from the night before and not from drinking on the job. a guest near me had a complaint and asked to speak to the manager. instead, one of the bartenders attempted to solve the problem. if i had asked for the manager, i would expect to speak with a manager. not some young prick pretending to have authority in the restaurant. when i did see the manager on duty that evening walking around the restaurant, she looked extremely unhappy and annoyed. i hope she was only filling in for the main manager. if not, alleia is going to become a has-been restaurant before we know it.
needless to say, i will be back for some bacon wrapped dates, however, i will be taking them to-go.
