absolutely wonderful!. after being ignored by the wait staff at kc smokehouse burger, my boyfriend and i decided to take our business here. the service was excellent, and thefoodwas out of this world.

the prices are awesome, too! with two entrees and an appetizer, the two of us ate for only $30. and if you ask, they'll substitute your rice for their french fries, which are dusted with some kind of magical something -they were some of the best fries i've had! i had the "aladdin's gyro", and it was excellent. unlike a lot of mediterranean restaurants, this place doesn't drown their gyros in cucumber sauce, and instead puts just the right amount. they also give you the choice of a soup or salad, and the greek salad i got with my meal was just fantastic.

tl;dr- this place is awesome. eat there.

what's not to love this place is cozy and amazing!! i really enjoy the rose water lemondade, it is truly one of my favorites. if you are new i recommend on a nice or hot day sitting outside and ordering some traditional middle easternfoodand also maybe some desserts or the lemonade. if you have not i recommend going upstairs to the room that is hidden away and relax there with your friends. the decoration is truly astonishing and really feels like you are in another world. will recommend! ❤

excellent food. thefoodis excellent and the staff is friendly. we got there every time our special needs toddler has an appointment at the nearby kumc. the staff always treated my toddler with respect and compassion. we have been going there since 2012. when we are in kc, we never eat anywhere else except at aladdin café.

our primary aim this afternoon was outdoor seating, and we'd been meaning to eat here for awhile. win on all counts- friendly, fast service, delicious freshfoodand a patio in a fun neighborhood. we had the baba ghanoush, petra platter, and gyro platter. i'll be back :-)

thefoodwas edible. not anywhere near the best mediterraneanfoodi've ever eaten. we had the aladdin gyro with greek salad. the meat was decent and the pita was wonderful but the sauce was runny and instead of spreading the vegetables out on the sandwich all of them were lumped together at the very end which you couldn't tell because the way the sandwich was wrapped up. the baklava had been microwaved so the dough was tough and impossible to cut but it did have decent flavor. the staff was awful. we have been treated better at mc donalds. the waitress slammed our order down and then ignored us the rest of the meal. she brought our check over and dropped it on the table with out asking if we wanted desert or if we needed anything else and walked away. i had to flag her down to order the baklava. she then rolled her eyes at us. apparently as punishment for daring to order desert she then left our bill on the table for 25 minutes before she bothered to collect it for us to pay. we were not impressed and will not go back.

our server was a little scattered and unfocused, but friendly. thefoodwas very tasty, and obviously made in-house (hummus was good, as were the dolmas and we looooved the dressing on the greek salad.) prices were reasonable

gracing the corner of 39th and wyoming, aladdin cafe has created an impressive track record in the kansas city community. since opening in 2006 they've received numerous reviews from the kansas city star, pitch magazine and some best of kansas city awards. that being said, it should come as no surprise that thefoodis darn good.

we tried this last night for the first time. thefoodwas very good. we ordered the shish taouk (spelling? ) and liked it a lot. the falafell was good but super small and the hummus was a small portion too, especially for appetizers. but all in all we would eat here again. they even brought my dad some baklava on the house for his birthday! very limited parking...

aladdin cafe - the return. due to request, i returned to aladdin for the second time this week. much to my liking, the flies were not dinner guests today, which made the experience much nicer. the owner was my server, and i found him quite personable. his banter with my table made lunch very enjoyable. on his recomendation, i tried the lentil soup, which was very good, with my entree of roasted eggplant which was incredibly delicious. served alongside the eggplant was rice which had the most tasty tomato sauce on it that i have had in a long time. i was very pleased with my lunch selection. i would highly recommend the roasted eggplant. those dining with me had the chicken schwarma (likely spelled incorrectly) pita and the dill chicken pita. the chicken schwarma was not as good as those that i have had in the past, but certainly tasty. the dill chicken was wonderful. the garlic potato sauce that was served along with it was a delight. with my second visit being so pleasant, and thefoodonce again delivering, aladdin has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

aladdin cafe. i am a huge fan of jerusalem cafe, so i was kind of wary to try aladdin. however, i found myself pleasantly surprised. besides the annoying two flies that were buzzing about and the warmer than comfortable temperatures, the experience was a good one. i ordered the aladdin salad and the shrimp and feta appetizer, both of which were very good. the shrimp and feta was perfectly seasoned and the salad was a good portion with a nice tangy dressing. those dinning with me had the chicken tikka, which was superb, and the gyro platter, which was also very good. the chicken tikka was absolutely delicious, and came with a nice portion of good hummus. though i am a die hard fan of jerusalem, i would definitely return to aladdin cafe for a change of pace - i'd just order myfoodto go next time.
