the appetizer trio is out of this world, especially the genie sauce. i had the kifka and hummus pita sandwich, and would highly recommend it. also, they have the best lentil soup i've ever tastes. while they don't serve alcohol, you can pay $2.50 a person and bring your own. we definitely took advantage of that!

gracing the corner of 39th and wyoming, aladdin cafe has created an impressive track record in the kansas city community. since opening in 2006 they've received numerous reviews from the kansas city star, pitch magazine and some best of kansas city awards. that being said, it should come as no surprise that the food is darn good.

great for gf and vegan diners. this is a great place to go if you need to eat gluten-free or vegan. the wait staff is very knowledgeable about what has gluten, dairy, and animal products in it. they are really nice and never too busy either, and the service is always good. the lentil soup is fantastic. perfect.

we tried this last night for the first time. the food was very good. we ordered the shish taouk (spelling? ) and liked it a lot. the falafell was good but super small and the hummus was a small portion too, especially for appetizers. but all in all we would eat here again. they even brought my dad some baklava on the house for his birthday! very limited parking...

aladdin cafe - the return. due to request, i returned to aladdin for the second time this week. much to my liking, the flies were not dinner guests today, which made the experience much nicer. the owner was my server, and i found him quite personable. his banter with my table made lunch very enjoyable. on his recomendation, i tried the lentil soup, which was very good, with my entree of roasted eggplant which was incredibly delicious. served alongside the eggplant was rice which had the most tasty tomato sauce on it that i have had in a long time. i was very pleased with my lunch selection. i would highly recommend the roasted eggplant. those dining with me had the chicken schwarma (likely spelled incorrectly) pita and the dill chicken pita. the chicken schwarma was not as good as those that i have had in the past, but certainly tasty. the dill chicken was wonderful. the garlic potato sauce that was served along with it was a delight. with my second visit being so pleasant, and the food once again delivering, aladdin has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

aladdin cafe. i am a huge fan of jerusalem cafe, so i was kind of wary to try aladdin. however, i found myself pleasantly surprised. besides the annoying two flies that were buzzing about and the warmer than comfortable temperatures, the experience was a good one. i ordered the aladdin salad and the shrimp and feta appetizer, both of which were very good. the shrimp and feta was perfectly seasoned and the salad was a good portion with a nice tangy dressing. those dinning with me had the chicken tikka, which was superb, and the gyro platter, which was also very good. the chicken tikka was absolutely delicious, and came with a nice portion of good hummus. though i am a die hard fan of jerusalem, i would definitely return to aladdin cafe for a change of pace - i'd just order my food to go next time.

awesome. best salad i have ever had a a greek or middle eastern restaurant! the key is the unique and wonderful dressing. it leaves you craving it for days. the pita bread is also the freshest and softest i have ever had.

it didn’t surprise, impress or wow (except the standout lentil soup). the service was pretty bad, but the server, i believe, was new so we cut him a lot of slack

for owner mohammed iskandrani and his younger brother, mazen, this is aladdin’s second outpost. the first location is on massachusetts in lawrence, which the brothers purchased from the owners of jerusalem café. come here and order any dish that features
