great mix of chinese and japanesefoodwith friendly service!

the best asianfoodin kingwood, at least the best japanese and sushi in kingwood. their specialty and chefs rolls can be adventurous but the udon and tempura are great and all thefoodis fresh. the service is attentive, helpful and friendly.

always full. there's a reason this place is always full.

it may not have the best service (in fact service can be amazing one day and shockingly bad the next). it may get a little loud. it may not be the cheapest sushi place.

but thefoodis consistently above "good" and the cooks will work with your dietary needs. for sushi in our area it's probably the freshest fish and absolutely the fastest in terms of gettingfoodto the table.

plus, there are some really wonderful regular (non-sushi) menu items.

you need to order sushi items cut thin and without sauce...and don't be afraid to send it back because - hey - they aren't cheap prices and the owners will fix the food.

overall we keep going back. there's some improvement in service over the past few months.

i like the modern decor and it seems family friendly enough (i've seen families with high chairs at their tables). my biggest gripe is i wish not all of their sushi was topped with excessive sauces. i thought i picked menu items without sauce or tempura crunch but they sauced myfoodanyway (perhaps for decorative purposes?) i don't want my sushi to be slathered in sugar or mayo. is this too much to ask? fresh fish should speak for itself.

greatfoodand great atmosphere! we had four of their sushi platters and a bento box and everything was delicious! definitely going back on a regular basis. can't wait to try another dish. their waitstaff needs work though; lacks revisiting to refill drinks.

going downhill from cutting costs. sushi is still delicious, but they put too much emphasis on the "fusion" bit. hard to get sashimi without extra sauces and stuff all over it. the chinese menu used to be good, but they've started cutting down on the amount of meat in the dishes, so get ready for a plate full of veggies if you order a chinese dish. when i do getfoodhere, i order it to go; even thought they've toned down the technocrap music, it still is a pain to try and have a conversation at a table there. too bad, because with a few tweaks, they could be by far the best asian cuisine in kingwood. one great thing that does set them above the other asian restaurants in kingwood is that if the menu indicates a dish is spicy, it will actually have some heat to it. all the others here are a joke if you want a spicy dish, with the exception of red curry thai restaurant.

aweful. i wouldn't even give this place one star. to start off the place is nicely "fixed up" but there is very loud "club" music playing. then the waiters run around like chickens with there heads cut off and forget about trying to get up from the table or a waiter will run into you. our waiter was a bald guy who said "no you don't want to eat that it's gross" when i ordered something simple off the menu. then proceeded with "i'll give you a few more minutes to look over the menu" and left. when my husband asked if the resturant had sweet tea to drink the waiter then sarcastically said "we have sugar on the table". i find that kind of rude... how hard is it to say "no we have unsweet tea only"? once our order was taken he brought out all of myfoodfirst then told my husband his would be out soon. it took another 10 minutes before his was out and i was already done eating my food. it didn't stop there.... like i said the waiters run around and i guess 2 of them clashed right behind my husband and a plate flew in the air and sauce went all over my husbands back. the waiters ran off very quickly and didn't even stop to offer assistance or say sorry. so there i was 7 months pregnant wiping off my husbands back in the middle of this resturant. finally i called a waiter over and asked what the sauce was so i knew how to wash his shirt and the guy said he didn't know, even though i know he saw the whole thing happen. our waiter came over and said very rudely "oh it's just ginger dressing, it's no big deal" and walked away after giving us our ticket. at that point we were ready to leave. they didn't offer to comp our meal or even appologize for any of it. we will never go back there and i'm warning all my friends and family about wasting their money there as well! it's way to expensive for the lack of taste and service! i would recomend hunan gardens!!
