had been to against the grain in a tuesday evening. for a weekday too the place was pretty full. pint of beer us a tad bit expensive than other pubs in the city centre. (€5.90). but they do have a wide selection of craft beers for all the beer lovers. the place was undergoing renovation. upstairs lounge servesfoodas well. ok to visit once maybe but there are better and cheaper pubs in the city.

this bar is the go to spot for my friends and i!

the staff are great craic, the drinks collection is vast and varied (esp, craft beer) and thefoodis excellent! there's also games of scrabble, guess who etc. scattered around in case conversation runs short!

fantastic selection of beers in here, always a nice crowd and buzz about the place. i've always found the bar men really friendly and they're more than happy to recommend a new or different craft beer
i haven't tried thefoodhere yet though, so it'll be another excuse to go back

probably the best beer-focused bar in the city. great range of 30 or so taps and a couple of cask ales on too. owned by galway bay brewery, which is (in my mind) the top craft brewery in ireland. always an excellent range of their own beers & then a constantly rotating selection of guest taps. good (but very expensive) bottle list - usually only crack into that if i have someone to share the cost/beer.foodis well priced and hearty - really great sausage menu, from the simple to the more obscure. vibe is chilled, candlelit and friendly (driven by the great staff). usually pretty busy, but an overflow area (with a pool table) upstairs. a top bar, no doubt about it.

i haven't eaten here but i'd hope thefoodis as good as the other locations in galway bay brewery's locations.  options for craft beer is in abundance and the staff are very knowledgable.  they also have loads of jenga pieces.  i bloody love a game of jenga after four stiff glasses of full bodied, yeast and hop loaded stout and beer.

run by the galway bay brewing company, against the grain sits well on camden street. with a comfortable layout, board games on tap, and a distinctive lack of tvs, there is always a great, relaxed vibe in here. the range of beers on tap is mind-boggling, with something to cater for everyone's tastes. thefoodis outstanding as well, punching well above you're average 'pub-grub' offerings, with the grilled goat's cheese, beetroot, and sweet potato salad being a highlight. whether it be for a nice, relaxing meal out, or just a few drinks with friends, this is always a winner.

one of the original craft beer pubs in dublin, what against the grain do, they do very very well. it’s by no means a fancy sport but the bar staff are passionate about beer and happy to talk you through all the options - perfect for craft beer novices and experts alike. thefoodis understated but not to be missed, classic pub grub with really decent portions. there’s always a really nice mix of locals and visitors giving the bar a good buzz. the sausage sandwich menu is overflowing with choice - i’d recommend the traditional with chunky chips.
