great food great atmosphere. para la gente simple, asi que si tu le la das de millonario sigue caminando. if you come here expecting 5 star service and pampering go somewhere else. this isn't a bad thing but some people expect every place they eat to be that and then come on here and give businesses bad reviews when the business isn't that. reviewed within its category this is a great place with slight room for improvement, give them a chance and they'll continue to learn and get better.
this is all about the food and the food is good and priced reasonably. some people don't understand how a latinrestaurantworks. let me explain something to you, not all the food is ready at the same time and some things have to be made on the spot. i've had rice and beans made by many different places and no 2 are exactly the same but they have all been good to me, i appreciate the slight differences in how caribbean people cook the same thing. i don't care that about the chairs, or the plates...i care about what i am putting into my mouth...la camida y nada mas. asi que dejen tanta quejaderas y coman que ustedes saben que eso esta bueno. the complaints about this place posted here is like if i went to a food truck after the club and bitched about not having a waiter...pendejadas like that.

the only puerto ricanrestaurantin the dfw area.. adobo is good, i like it but we don't have any other puerto ricanrestaurantin the dfw metroplex. the mofongo is ok at best, their pernil is very, very, very good, the alcapurias are very good and so are the tostones. arroz con gandules is very good. you will have to try their dishes to see which ones you like. the best thing about adobo is that they have pan sobao which is awesome, prior to adobo i would have to go back home to get pan soabo. it is a little pricey but the fact that i can have the pan is well worth the price.

not worth the money spent!. i've been to this eatery a few times while on layover in dallas, mostly with local friends. you would think that being the only puerto ricanrestaurantcurrently in operation in the metroplex, that the owners would take pride in their establishment, but that is not the case. i went there a few days ago and ordered steak with onions, rice and beans. it took them 45 minutes to get the food to the table. when i looked for the onions on the steak, there were only a few pieces and when asked what had happened to them, the waitress said that they had apparently broken up in the cooking process. therestaurantdoes not believe in washing dishes so they serve everything in styrofoam containers, even the beans ( not the best favored i may add here ),are served in foam 'dixie cups'. another pet peave are the tables that wobble and are unstable, plus the plastic lawn chairs. perhaps what i mind the most is the high price of the otherwise nothing to write home about food and presentation, and the 'take it or leave it' attitude of the people that work behind the counter. i did meet the owner and he is very nice and welcoming, but if he is to stay in business, he needs to improve things and fast. next time i am in dallas, i will go to "caribbean cafe" which is cuban, or, casa vieja, which is colombian. there is also inca's cafe, a very elegant but affordable peruvian restaurant, also within 30 minutes from the dfw airport.

puerto rican food is great but it needs to be presented well and has to be consistently of good quality.

authentic puertorican flavor. finally a place where you can enjoy real puertorican food with authentic puertorican flavor made by 100% puertorican staff. not arestaurantbut a traditional cafeteria.

most try the bread " pan sobao ", carne frita con mofongo and puertorican sodas like ok cola, old colony, malta india & much more.

also, as you wait for your order you can enjoy puertorican music videos and clips of old times tv shows like los cacucomicos, etc.
