wow. why haven't i tried this place sooner? i never order pork chops in arestaurant- but i did this time and - wow! the jambalaya was wonderful. the deserts were incredible and this is a unique find because they take reservations! what a novel idea for portland. will be back for more wonderful meals.

always unnerving to walk into arestaurantand be the only diner -- but this time it was everyone else's loss. staff was attentive but not overpowering, and the food was spectacular. the softshell crab and étouffée was one of the better meals i've had had in several years. i'm looking forward to another visit.

acadia , a new orleans bistro, at ne fremont and 13th in the sabin neighborhood of portland serves modern american cuisine with local ingredients rooted in louisiana cajun/creole traditions. every day, acadia serves up louisiana classic southern food, including shipping the real deal ingredients that can’t be sourced locally here right from the south like gulf shrimp, blue crab, and louisiana crawfish to compliment the locally sourced fresh northwest ingredients. the food is high quality and service very smooth and caring like your charming neighborhood favoriterestaurant(i saw staff welcome back and chat with several regulars during our meal). chef/owner adam higgs is representing new orleans here- i think the restaurant’s new orleans artwork and creole/cajun artifacts ar

acadiarestaurantwas such a pleasant surprise. it's a new orleans/cajunrestauranton fremont street. during portland's dining month we decided to try some new restaurants and acadia was the 1st one we tried. they offered a 3 course meal for $30 and because it was monday night they also offered a 3 course meal for $20. monday's are definitely the most affordable night to eat there. everything we ate here was outstanding. this is hands down the best meal we've eaten in portland so far! in the photo you will see the following dishes:  fried soft shell crab and crawfish etouffee with popcorn rice and jalapeño tartar sauce $26 rhubarb salad with fresh strawberries, spice toasted oats, portland creamery goat cheese and tarragon – mint vinaigrette with arugula and chicories $10 gulf shrimp, blue crab and crawfish gumbo with house andouille sausage and white rice $9  vanilla bean bread pudding with salted caramel sauce, whipped cream and toasted pecans $6

very nice. we made reservations for a friday night for four of us. when we arrived our table was waiting, even though therestaurantwas fairly busy. excellent, attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly staff. the menu was small, but nice, and the food uniformly very good. i do not eat meat, but they had a vegetarian (not vegan) option on the menu, goat cheese gnocchi, which was quite good. i would recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic cajun experience.

food and service was great! different than any otherrestaurantin portland. be sure you like rum and creole before you go, not a lot of non-louisiana style food choices.
