acadia - a new orleans bistro

forgot to add a must taste!!! the bacon pecan pie... omg!! yeah it's that good!

great food but it was so loud i could not hear my date. the drinks weregreattoo and my server jenn was so sweet. too loud though.

nola is right here in portland!. if you want to tastegreatnola style dining, acadia has it! we were treated to a world class experience.
having dined extensively in nola, i feel that chef/owner adam higgs compares very favorably to their renowned chefs, including the legendary emeril.
portland is very lucky to have acadia.
the duck pate, fish, jambalaya et al were original, creative and heavenly. can't wait to try the etouffee. and more of those hush puppies--wow!
don't miss acadia on fremont in ne portlandia.

valentines dinner. the 5 course meal we had on v-day was delicious except for the main course - gnocchi with goat cheese and radishes i believe. i was so excited about this dish but when it came it was very bland and dry. it could have use more sauce or flavor. all other courses were phenomenal though and i would most definitely return.

one note of service, the waitress we had was incredibly slow and it took close to 20 minutes to get drinks ordered and even get water. now i know v-day is busy for restaurants however this place couldn't have seated more than 25-35 people and her section was pretty small. we watched her pass by several times sometimes back to the same tables without a glance at us. she also served the couple next to us before us and they had arrived at least 10 minutes after us. hoping that was an off night for her or maybe she was new.

all in all though it was a lovely dinner. the ambience was wonderful and it wasgreatto try something different. i'd love to try their regular menu some time!

acadia is well worth checking out on your next trip to portland. it had been recommended to me and i'm glad to have friends with suchgreattaste and instincts. i'm also glad to know that there's some place to get good cajun/creole food without making it myself or buying a plane ticket to new orleans!

great spot for a date with my mate. jambalaya not as spicy now as in yrs past, but stillgreat(and perhaps a bit easier on the inside!)

incredible. one of my favorites in all of portland, all of everywhere.greatdeal on mondays-- ten dollar dinner entrees or seventeen dollar three course. everything i have had is superb. go and enjoy.
