3 diners in house tonight, had great food, good service, good experience, could have more heating in restaurant dining area, have been eating at restaurant for about ten years now, restaurant has always been too cold. can recommend food, bestthaiin chch.

wonderful and consistent thai- definitely one of the betterthairestaurants in chch. it's always tasty and well presented and the staff are friendly and attentive. one thing to note is that the meals are quite spicy so i often go for mild here when i usually go for medium anywhere else.

went to the abalone for a team lunch. the restaurant was warm and had a lovely feel inside. the lunch menu had some good varieties. the padthaii ordered was amazing, one of the best i have had. everybody was happy with their food. very happy with the quantity and the pricing. the waitress could be a bit more pleasant though :) will return, may be for dinner this time.

ordered a chicken cashew,thaimussaman andthaibeef salad.
extremely disappointed with each meal being filled with overcooked meat and chewy, the vegetables consisting of carrot and not much else and minimal flavor.
we called the restaurant to express our disappointment and instead of offering any solution or apology was met with a brash i will tell the chef.

very disappointing and will not recommend anyone to dine there.

tonight we ate in. we have to say this is the worstthaithat we have ever had. the massamun curry had watties frozen veg in it and for medium it lacked flavor! very disappointing, and the pad med ma muang was very sweet. we had to go and ask for drinks rather than table service as it was very slow as they seemed to prioritize take-aways. the positive was the decor. we would not recommend this restaurant.

we had a takeaway, very dissapointing to say the least.
the padthaiwas the worst i have ever had, not even rice noodles. it was just egg noodles mixed with a bit of chicken, a few bean sprouts and chilli sauce with a few bits of peanuts.
the curry was what we could make at home, $40 for the combo.
shame as the owners review said one of the best. would not return.

tried the restaurant again recently and i have to say the food - particularly the wild pork and wild venison was superb. the menu is extensive and because its easy to read, with pics of some of the dishes, it encourages you to explorethaicuisine. service was good - food was great - and the new decor is looking good as well. i would rate this as the bestthaifood in chch.

after waiting 45 minutes (not 15, as had been stated), we received our delicious smelling meal...notably before the poor customer beside me who'd been waiting over an hour. when we got it home it was less than average - we had the mussels and thethaibeef salad. the other point to note is the signage saying they have venison and ostrich. well not according to the person at front of house, who scanned the menu and said "oh we musn't be doing that anymore". overall a very disappointing experience and a restuarant we would highly unrecommend.

amazingthaifood, authentic and delicious both dining in where service is excellent and for takeaway we've bee back 3 times since trying it the first time a few weeks ago!

excellent range of meat. i had the wild pork and my partner the wild venison which was cooked to perfection with a lovely range ofthaispices. the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are friendly and efficient and well presented.
would highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful night out!
