a thing for chocolate

came for sunday brunch. the wait was about half hour as it's a tiny place that seats 10-15 at capacity. lattes are pretty standard but thecrepesare the real deal. made fresh to order. i literally saw the chef cut my strawberries and melt my chocolate. large enough to share if you're not starving. recommend for a nice weekend girls' brunch.

i absolutely love this place. the ambiance is perfect and the crêpes and chocolate delicious!!! i'm not in town as often as i'd like, but whenever i am, my partner and i make sure to stop in. i highly recommend to anyone who loves chocolate (and you get the benefit of supporting a great local restaurant)!!

deliciouscrepesand fantastic desserts!! sweet or savoury, you really can't go wrong! we also tried their chocolate cheesecake with oreo crust and a vanilla ice cream that's made in store - you can even see the little flecks of real vanilla beans so you know it's great quality. the ice cream itself is such a treat even though it's technically an add on - thick and custardy and not icy and watery like the typical ice cream you'd get from a container. definitely a great spot to come for breakfast - cozy atmosphere and omar is so friendly!

comfy, cozy, chocolately. a thing for chocolate located on wellington west is the best place to go if you love crêpes and you love chocolate for breakfast.

there was one chef and one server. upon walking in, the chef beckoned us inside and invited us to seat ourselves. the place is the first story of a medium-sized town house and can seat 20 quite comfortably. we arrived by bike, but there is street parking around the area....

better than cocoa 70. i've been going here for a year, going probably a total of 30 times, and not once have i been disappointed. the service is wonderful, the atmosphere is calming and the food is delicious. if you want something added our taken out of a crepe, all you have to do is ask and they will make sure your needs are fulfilled. thecrepesare a very good size, i usually split a savoury crepe and a desert crepe with my friend when i go, and i always leave the restaurant full. if you ask for thecrepessplit for two they will pre split it and bring it on two separate plates for you unless it's a very chocolatey crepe that would run. after a few visits the owner, omar will recognize you and always greet you with a warm welcome. the quality and service of this restaurant is much better than cocoa 70, i would recommend this place to anyone and i am confident that you would not regret making a visit to this wonderful restaurant.

a welcome addition to the neighbourhood !. a french savoury crêpe with brie, mushrooms and spinach was delicious . the owner is gracious and welcoming and the desserts are delectable i will be back again..and again. they do take-out crêpes and have excellent coffee as well.

a real treat. my boyfriend and i stopped off at a thing for chocolate after a skate on the canal. i am so glad we did! the hot chocolate was sublime, thecrepeswere simple and delicious. what a find this lovely little spot is. omar is a wonderful host/chef. my only regret is that i could not try more things off of the menu at once! thank you omar, i will be telling family and friends (and anyone who will listen) about a thing for chocolate.

to meet your food tastes/ we both had veggiecrepesbut i added an egg and my wife chicken/ fun to watch omar make your meal/
tasty and very flavourful/ nice accompanying salad/ but the highlight for me was the dessert. oh my god it was great/
chocolate caramel torte with fruit/ one of the best desserts i have ever had/ i'll return just for that/ a relaxing fun place to
enjoy a wonderfully unique food/very clean/ will be returning.

cute cafe. went with friends for dessert and we wished we hadn't already eaten dinner because the savorycrepessounded really good! we opted to share a few desserts but will be back sometime to try some of the other menu items. everything was homemade and delicious.

spectacular chocolate flavours. i had the now famous hazelnut chocolatecrepesthat owner omar proudly crafts! wow... is the only word that can describe the experience.
omar makes the chocolate hazelnut spread himself using hazelnuts that he hand roasts. sounds like a lot of work but i'm glad he does it. just amazing... nice cup of coffee too!
i can't wait to go back ... i might just have a problem. atfc might have to open a center for customers who have become addicted to its luxurious offerings.

chocolate americano was amazing!. i stopped by for a coffee after doing some thrift shopping, and lucky for me the world cup happened to be playing.

i had a hard time deciding what to get since all the menu items sounded delectable, but ended up going for the chocolate americano coffee (it had a fancy name which i forget now).

the chocolate turned out to be real actual pieces of chocolate rather than hot chocolate powder or something gross like that. it was so rich, creamy and satisfying, probably one of the best americano's i've had.

the best place for crepes, especially if you're gluten free!. every time i go to a thing for chocolate it's like coming home, you walk in and you can relax. the food is amazing and they have almond milk hot chocolate! (which is, for someone who is both gluten and dairy free, extremely important) they also have cookies, chocolates (obviously), and a selection of gluten free treats! and the crepes! oh good lord the crepes! even if you don't like the myriad ofcrepesthat are on the menu (both savoury and sweet), omar will make a special crepe for you just the way you like it. buckwheat is the substitute for regular flour but holy moly is it just as good. a thousand and seven thumbs up for this place, you won't need to go anywhere else for crepes.

fantastique!!!. we went with our family and we enjoyed very much, thecrepeswere really good and the hot chocolate was amazing. the owner was very friendly. is a good place to visit when you are in ottawa, is not expensve and everything fresh and the decor is very nce.

really delicious and friendly atmosphere. today my husband and i really enjoyed lunch at a thing for chocolate. thecrepesand savoury/sweet fillings are amazing! coffee is very flavorful and the service was great too! we will definitely recommend it to family, friends and neighbors. looking forward to returning soon.

yummycrepesin cosy cafe. my mother and i had lunch at this cosy little café today. our savoury crepes, ham and spinach, and egg, bacon, tomato & dijon were delicious and fresh. great place to meet a friend and chat over a pot of lemongrass tea.
