just gorgeous. amazing pasta (the gnocchi special was to die for). wonderful service and lovely atmosphere. the italian waiter is a little difficult to understand but, hey, that all just adds to the authenticity:) a favorite place to go.

our first night in syndey we were recommended to try this place. i had booked a few weeks in advance being easter weekend, and we were treated so well all night by all the staff. the menu is short but packs creativity and flair showcasing the very best of traditional italian cuisine. we indulged in burata mozzeralla, polipo with a beautiful potato puree and pumpkin fettucine with honey bugs. we also had the fish of the day which was fresh, delicious and also wines to match. dessert of figs with marscapone and chocolare ganache with salted caramel and mirangue were highlights of the night washed down with a barolo grappa. could not recommend this place any higher. when you match perfect service with traditional italian food you cannot make for a better experience. well done tonight to the staff and kitchen.

the bar manager "marco" is extremely rude with a filthy attitude.

due to a traffic jam (moore park event) on a sunday evening coupled with parking challenges at bondi (difficult as it is) we were 30min late to our booking.

our father had just come out of surgery the previous day and had trouble walking at a reasonable pace and so while we assisted him, my sister went ahead to grab the table and notify the wait staff. despite my sister apologising profusely for being late, the bar manager rudely scolded my sister and decided to humiliate her in front of other customers by infantising her about punctuality.

this is totally unacceptable behaviour and appalling for a customer to be treated this way, or for that matter any human being.

food was ok despite the very expensive price tag. avoid! will never be coming back due to this experience.

in a city with such a high standard of italian cuisine, a tavola stands out to be the best of the best in sydney. their fresh handmade pasta and daily specials menu are executed to perfection, making a tavola a restaurant that is very easy to fall in love with.

the layout of a tavola is incredible! they have turned an old house into a great restaurant. the vibe is great and the staff make you feel like you're in a modern day italy. all the food we had was delicious!! if you don't mind paying a little bit more for great food, you have to check this place out.

hands down, my favourite restaurant in sydney. i have been coming here for years and it is consistently exceptional food, service and ambience.

the staff are delightful and make a real effort to ensure that your experience is of the highest quality. they are always knowledgeable about the menu and have never failed to recommend the perfect accompanying wine.

i find it hard to go past any of the ragu pasta options which make my mouth water just thinking about them! the red cabbage salad is also delicious and a beautiful balance of flavours and textures. not to be missed is the unforgettable cremino al cioccolato which is life changing. the most indulgent dessert i have ever had. please do try it!

i cannot recommend a tavola, darlinghurst more highly and hope it stays around forever!

my boyfriend took me here on my birthday for a surprise. it is gorgeous. the wait staff, the food, the intimate atmosphere, the decor, the wine. just sublime. we had cerviche, spicy octopus and sausage pasta, beef flank and cremino al cioccolato for dessert. it tasted perfect and was wonderfully presented. hands down one of the best places if you want to go on a fancy date and throw a few hunnids. the wine and beer we chose were also fantastic!!

i couldn't fault this place in any way - service, food, atmosphere - waiters are great - really know their stuff. we let the waiter decide what we should eat so that we could have a mouth party!

this is now in my top 3 sydney italian restaurants - pendolino (an la rosa actually) and sagra are my other two. love love love that the pasta is so so so fresh and love that the menu (while minimalist) highlights fresh produce with some modern twists.

we had big lunch at doyle's in watson's bay, so decided to have only one main course each for our dinner at a tavola. the waiter seemed a bit funny about our response and left abruptly after taking our order. halfway through the meal we had an unexpected visitor. a giant spider was crawling on the wall right behind us in the under-covered backyard. one of the staff reacted quickly and captivated it with a vase. that was the only highlight of the meal really.

i live pretty close yet i havent been to a tavola even though i have read many great reviews about the place. it was only when my mum who was visiting from overseas wished to have some pasta i decided to take her there to celebrate her birthday.

as it was friday lunch, the restaurant wasn't that busy and we sat the back where there were non communal tables. staff were all friendly and the food we ordered was delicious!

we started off with some glasses of wine and their scallops (special menu) which looked delicate but was light and had lots of flavour. their signature pappardelle ragu was silky smooth and so so good! we had to order one each so that we did not fight over it. we also had their cos lettuce salad for our side which was light, refreshing and cut the richness the of the ragu.

we couldn't leave without trying their dessert so we had their signature cremino which was nice but i found it too rich and thought of my husband who would love this dessert. my mums mango tart with cinnamon ice cream was nicer and their cinnamon ice cream was amazing. heavy in cinnamon flavour (which i love, and wish it was a bigger scoop!) with the mango tart being more of a lighter dessert which was better to end the heavy meal.

still i'm glad i got to try a tavola and i will be back with my husband who will love their pappardelle and cremino.

one of the nicest italian eateries i've been to! authentic, delicious dishes (inc handmade pasta), super friendly and attentive staff, cosy ambience- what more can you ask for? we were seated next to each other along a communal bench, however it felt like we had our own private "space". i highly recommended the rigatoni ragu and pinot grigio wines. blink and you will miss this restaurant, which is just a short walk from taylor square/kings cross. a wonderful way to celebrate our birthdays on a thursday evening - felt like practising my (very basic) italian :)

love this place! been several times and it sure doesn't disappoint. menu is simple but very tasty dishes! we had the rigatoni ragù, pappardelle with tomato base with mozzarella and a bowl of green cos lettuce salad. absolutely delicious. good portion sizes and attentive wait staff as well. the only critique is the fact that it's a bit small, and can get really packed! but i guess it's worth it!
