great exxperience. i am vietnamese so my opinions are based on authentic vietnamese food.

my over experience here was very enjoyable and would definitely go back. the taste of the food were different from what i normally taste, but it's in no way bad, it's just different.

my friends and i ordered pho, bun bo hue, mi quanh thanh, egg rolls, and springrolls. all the broth based noodle soups were verygoodwith very tender meat and it filled us to the brim (my friends are people who eat big sizes). the springrolls had a lot of vegetables and the shrimp was nicely cooked, just enough juiciness so that it doesn't taste dry.

i don't recommend the eggrolls though because it was way to oily and i feel that a little bit more fillings would be nice.

the over all price for what you get were very fair if not cheap at times. customer service was great: they checked up on us, filled our drinks, and even conversed with us when they found out we were out of town (and vietnamese).

just passing through.... iowa on our way to minnesota, did a little research on a place to stop to eat, and this restaurant came up with somegoodpositive reviews. so why not give it a try?

we tried a few variety of rolls along with some chicken pho - all were mighty tasty. the chicken broth was nicely seasoned & not too salty, more meat than i am used to (good thing!), and ditto for the rice noodles. as most vietnamese restaurants are, it had a laid-back vibe and instantly felt comfortable when walking in. food is reasonably priced as well. the location is no the best as you can easily miss this place if you aren't looking for it.

overall agoodexperience and would stop back when taking another road trip through iowa. arguably the best pho that i have had, therefore it is currently a "favorite" restaurant of mine.

mmmmm... pho. the best pho i've ever had was in san antonio, tx... a dong is a close second and might be just asgoodif i knew not to order pho with grisly meat. a dong is on the edge of downtown and has decent parking and ok decor. nothing spectacular but it's in keeping with these sort of mom and pop asian restaurants.

i came during the lunch rush at 1230 and was able to be quickly seated and after i'd placed my order had my pho within 5-10 minutes. it was served in the huge bowl you'd expect and came with a healthy helping of fresh lime, basil, and bean sprouts. the meat was good, i'd ordered the mixed beef and enjoyed the tender pieces my only complaint was the grisly pieces which you can order a bowl without. i just wanted to try something new and learned. other than that i would've liked to have the pho be a little bit more saltier/sour without having to add soy. if you're in town i'd definitely recommend stopping in.

if you want authentic viet food in this area, then this is the place. it has everything and anything, from bún, pho, com, bánh canh, bánh xèo, you name it! i ordered the bánh cuôn with tôm chiên & cha lua (sheets were a lil thick, meat were not great, bánh xèo (not crunchy, not the best but acceptable) and fish sauce could be a lil sweeter. bò tái chanh (lemon rare steak) with salt, pepper, & lemon dip was prettygoodn interesting. overall, it was pretty good. location: although it's on high, the sign is barely visible from there and i almost missed it.
