this was a hosted visit which i was looking forward to. decided to go on a sunday evening around 4pm. it wasn't busy and there was nice relaxing atmosphere downstairs.
impressive selection of craft beer and cocktails were really good.
started with the sea trout with fennel and citrus salad which was tasty but not sure about the orange. next up was wings, home fries andporkbelly banh mi. we weren't mad about the wings and the banh mi was nice but had better expectations after seeing it made on a jamie oliver show one time!! staff were very friendly and i'd go back for drinks and maybe a snack but not a full meal. there are some good offers but thought wine was a little overpriced.

even though the restaurant was empty on a wednesday night, the room still felt like it had a nice atmosphere. the music was loud enough without being overbearing with a nice mix of songs, while every table was neatly set.
even though the menu is quite small, some of the options jump out at you. for me it was the cider braisedporkshoulder and quail breast and leg starter.
the starter was tasty but a little small, and with a bit too much barley
theporkmain was pretty dry and needed every bit of the apple jam. theporkand mustard croquette was lovely and the dish could've done with another one or two of these.
i have to give credit to our waitress who was lovely, attentive and always on hand without seeming intrusive.
the excellent selection of craft beers is notable too, with the bar offering tasting menus too.
although the overall experience was good, i don't think the price reflected the result. €70 for two main dishes, two starters, a side of chips, glass of wine and one pint seems too much for this establishment.
i would go back, but only to avail of their excellent early bird offer

we went here for dinner on a wednesday night and it was only ourselves and another couple but it really didn't phase us because the atmosphere was so nice! set above the headline bar, this restaurant looks out onto the busy harold's cross crossroads. we had the pick of all the seats in the place so picked a window seat and there was a lovely radiator at our feet to keep us toasty! the music and atmosphere of the place was lovely and although there were only 4 people there at the time we didn't beat the others conversation once, it was as if the place was nicely full!
the waitress was just lovely, she was so friendly and accommodating. my boyfriend wanted to order a starter and i wasn't too pushed on the selection so she told me i could order from the downstairs pub menu if anything there appealed to me more. i ordered the wings to start and they were so refreshing. they came in a lemon, honey and thyme glaze and there were the perfect amount of them! my boyfriend started with the quail breast and really enjoyed it.
for mains i opted for the 10oz ribeye with green beans, chips and a peppercorn sauce while he went for the cider braisedporkshoulder. it wasn't the best steak i've ever had and definitely needed much more seasoning but the portion was huge so i was happy! my boyfriend really enjoyed theporkand ordered an extra side of chips as his main was quite small. afterwards we were absolutely stuffed so we couldn't even look at desserts!
overall we had a lovely experience here- only negatives i would really note would be the size of the menu (4 starter options, 5 mains) but then again you could always order something from the downstairs bar menu, and the second thing i would note would be the price. we had 2 starters, 2 mains with 1 additional side and i had 1 glass of wine while my boyfriend opted for a craft beer (they've loads of craft beers and he was really impressed with the variety) and this came to about 70.. it was lovely and i'll definitely go back again, but just a little overpriced!
our waitress was such a lovely woman as well and made every effort to serve us without being too in your face- we got some lovely love heart sweets with our bill too so we were delighted.

the headline is hands down the best irish craft beer pub in dublin. they've got 24 taps with a rotational offering of the best irish craft beer on the market, which makes this the spot for trying out the latest and greatest in the beer world. their food menu is also full of wondrous offerings from kimchi pulledporkto turkish lamb meatballs, the menu is simply inspired. can't recommend this place enough. top drawer!
