even though the restaurant was empty on a wednesday night, the room still felt like it had a nice atmosphere. the music was loud enough without being overbearing with a nice mix of songs, while every table was neatly set.
even though the menu is quite small, some of the options jump out at you. for me it was the cider braised pork shoulder and quail breast and leg starter.
the starter was tasty but a little small, and with a bit too much barley
the pork main was pretty dry and needed every bit of the apple jam. the pork and mustard croquette was lovely and the dish could've done with another one or two of these.
i have to give credit to our waitress who was lovely, attentive and always on hand without seeming intrusive.
the excellent selection of craft beers is notable too, with the bar offering tasting menus too.
although the overall experience was good, i don't think the price reflected the result. €70 for two main dishes, two starters, a side of chips, glass of wine and one pint seems too much for this establishment.
i would go back, but only to avail of their excellent early bird offer
