a friend and i went off for a quick lunch last week, and ended up at zero fox. mr. l. chose the teriyaki salmon on rice, while i had a serve of okonomiyaki, and chicken and avo roll. mr. l. was happy enough with his fish, which also had mushrooms, enoki and regular, and some green leaves. i was disappointed with my sushi roll. for some obscure reason, it had been smothered in a sweet but bland sauce! i have never had sushi like this, and i don’t want to ever again. as the menu clearly states strictly no changes can be made, i fear that it would not be acceptable to ask for no sauce. i am bemused by this odd addition to a sushi plate. my okonomiyaki was delicious, thank heavens. tasty and fresh, with ample bonito flakes and sauce. i drank a yuzu lime and bitters – delicious and refreshing. it is a pleasant place to while away some time. basically it serves japanese and korean-inspired dishes, and provides wine, craft beers and spirits. orders are taken and paid for at the window; dishes are brought out to your table.
