what a great experience! it is really fine dining without the need to go so fancy. the cuisine is vegetarian/vegan, and even though i was a little hesitant at first i was not disappointed. the food was amazing and the dessert was sogoodthat i’m still thinking about it!!

can’t recommend this place enough. we had such agoodtime here. the food was delicious but i would come back just on the back of their fantastic service and hospitality. the place is cozy and a nice balance of fine dining and unpretentious atmosphere.

one of the best restaurants i’ve been to..completely fresh and organic place..reallygoodspread..though something’s may not be nice to our taste..especially since we may not have tried a few ingredients! but over a fabulous experience quite a wide spread and also slightly on the expensive side! but definitely worth the experience and quality!

this is some seriouslygoodfood. we did not realise it was a banquet (5 or 7 dishes) and i'm glad we didn't know because we may have decided against it, then we would have missed out.

put your taste buds in their hands - these people know what they are doing with flavour & texture. even foods i don't normally like much (ie coconut) were absolutely delicious.

and the vodka, lemongrass & coriander cocktail was also amazing! no hesitation recommending this place.

disappointed that the breakfast menu wasn't vegetarian, after hearing so manygoodthings about the vegetarian dinner. felt like there were limited vegetarian options for breakfast, especially, if you're hungry. they are, however, willing to charge you extra for substitutions of the meat products in the breakfast meals, despite not using the meat. so kind. note that while cards are welcomed, they do charge 1.5% surcharge on all cards, not just credit cards - claiming this is a pass on fee from banks.
food wise - interesting menu, modern decor, adequate service (longer waits for order, table clean and payment than i'd expect with 5 staff members milling around, not too personable either. but adequate.)
had the baked eggs with cauliflower - rich and salty, goodtextures, and unique flavours especially with the cauliflower having being pickled.
coffee well made.

food wasgood& tasty, but service was bad.

i came here a little while ago for my birthday with my partner. we ordered a range of dishes which tasted great but we had a rude waiter.

it was really difficult to get his attention and he seemed to be having a bad day, giving us some attitude.

i won't be back and won't recommend this place.

of all the tasting menu i tried in sydney (and i have tried a few), this was by far the worst one.

we had agoodtime in monopole so decided to try this place since they were managed by the same people.  it was disappointing from the food to the wine.  the serving size for multiple course meal was usually small and never once before i had left my dish unfinished.  i did in yellow.  one of the course (pork belly) was so terrible from choice of ingredients (mostly layer of fat) to execution (bland, under seasoned) , i couldn't bring myself eating it.  we chose a bottle of french red priced at $85, but if i did a blind test i wouldn't pick it from a tenner from dan murphy's.

we’ve been wanting to try yellow’s breakfast menu for a while now. recently awarded it’s second chef’s hat in a row in the smhgoodfood guide, we decided that it’s time we visited. situated in a converted 1950s art gallery in the leafy, sophisticated suburb of potts point, yellow is ingoodcompany with monopole and chochosan as neighbours. we arrived just before 11am on a sunday morning and was surprised to find the restaurant not full with several tables available indoors – however the warm spring weather persuaded a couple of patrons to wait for the outside tables.

attending staff and sommelier were fantastic, unfortunately the food was not to my personal taste, the scotch fillet married to fennel didn't work, the biggest let down was the blue eyed travella fillet which could be smelt coming in from the kitchen (smelt..not in agoodway)dry and aged! decore fantastic, staff amazing, drinks great....food...tweak it up , with fresh produce(fish)...i didn't complain about the fish as i did not wish to make a scene, but i am now and here!

baked eggs with chorizo & spiced yoghurt 17 stuck for breakfast around potts point wanting to overseas but can’t afford it? yellow  ticks both those boxes, in my opinion! poached eggs with charred onion consomme, mushrooms & peas ($16) as soon as s and i entered  yellow , she turns to me and says, “this makes me feel like i’m not in sydney anymore.” i’m not quite sure what it is about the place, the decor or the style of food, or perhaps the people at the adjacent tables – it’s not a very typical ‘sydney’ cafe. but that’s agoodthing in my books...

we have been to yellow before but this is first dinner. we booked for 6.30 on a friday night, that morning. we were advised we had to be out by 8.30 which was no problem.

menu choices are somewhat limited but we found a fish and a lamb main. we shared some natural oysters and two sides - potatoes and this amazing roasted zucchini with a pistachio cream sauce.

everything was very nicely done and tasted great. usually something doesn't quite happen but everything we had was excellent. so the one hat rating is deserved.

service was friendly and attentive. another plus. and we didnt wait long at all. all in all agooddinner which worked out at $125 including a beer ex tip.

went last sunday morning. first into the place at 8am. this on purpose because i hate queueing to eat.

guy welcomed us and i think he needed caffeine as much as we did. sat in great spot in the window. so all good.

we ordered the awesome porridge and scrambled eggs and bacon. special mention to the bacon - a hand cut thick strip of around 10mm, somewhere between normal and pork belly. this was amazing. we all shared that. friends ordered the signature slow poached eggs in onion consommé. reports were good.

coffee was ok. all in all was agoodbrekkie and we would go again. fratelli finally has competition just around the corner.

hot off the press, chef brent savage has won the 2015goodfood guide chef of the year award and there are plenty of reasons to celebrate. yellow , is savage's newest venture in potts point taking a more conventional approach to australian bistro dining. meanwhile, his flagship restaurant, molecular gastronomy haven of bentley restaurant & bar has taken a more imaginative turn jettisoning into the radisson blu in sydney's cbd. the restaurant scene has been quite tumultuous lately, to say the least with fresh names popping up every second day, abrupt closures and chef's hats flying left, right and centre . only a year ago, i was reviewing an entirely different restaurant at this exact address  (a pop-up mind you, but still). how bizarre! first thing's desserts. talk about wow factor: an intergalactic sphere of chocolate, passionfruit curd & coconut marshmallow. a fantastic combination and the wafer thin dark chocolate was delicious. a note on the curd though, which was probably closer t
