i would be extremely close to going back to yellow purely for the food. i can understand when a cafe is raw, but in this case it was a bit flat. perhaps we came after a particularly big night; perhaps we didn’t!

yellow (57 macleay street, potts point, nsw) serves up an amazing dish of lamb tongues with endive, pickled green raisins (fermented food!) and puffed black rice.......

our first insight to yellow’s kitchen was a share plate of beef tendon crisps. prawn cracker in appearance we all assumed they’d be nice to nibble on but what we didn’t expect was just how good they would be.

gold plated - sydney. 8-mar-2014: if you haven't been to yellow before you are in for a treat. baby snapper for entrée. fish was moist and sweet. almond bread crunch was a nice touch and the tomato and red pepper sauce was delicate and beautifully balanced. lamb rump for main course. done medium and cooked to perfection! dessert was finely sliced plum with plumb sorbet with liquorice cake. i take my hat off to whoever put this together. service was exemplary. could not fault it. i want this experience again!

the food is rich, every dish is a gastronomic delicacy - it’s a very particular taste. we ordered the beef tartare, shaved radish, egg yolk & sherry vinegar, lamb tongue with witlof, pickled green raisins & puffed black rice, o’connor sirloin with brown butter, roast baby cos & tarragon and the slow cooked ocean trout with young onions, fennel & almond – the trout was by far my favorite.

brilliant service, great team who know their menu and their wine. exceptional cuisine. recommend the steak tartare and the sirloin. nectarine, licorice and white chocolate desert defies logic! highly recommended!

great atmosphere , wonderful service from
a friendly sharp accommodating waiter . good wine list . food: good sized portions especially mains , beautiful bread. if french style food is your thing this is a great place . we ordered 3 different deserts- none really leapt off the page - and none really were that pleasing. we dell only had a mouthful each . they were either overpowering - licorice and nectarine - or lacking complexity/ interest : banana ice cream sandwich literally tasted like a plain frozen banana .
but the rest was good - will def go back .

100% superb-one of the cities best. stunning food, amazing fit out and incredible wine list. we could not fault this restaurant and we are very picky.

the sirloin is a must, the organic chicken is divine and the beef pastrami is genius.

simply the best restaurant in potts point if not in sydney.

i went to yellow yesterday morning to buy a few things for breakfast... omg what a change! i've been greeted with a smile, i've been attended almost instantly as i walked in the place... it was amazing! it looks like they have finally taken all critics into consideration and have taken action! their bread and butter pudding is just to die for!

food is gorgeous, although a little pricy... however, customer service is far from being at the level you'd expect in a place with such a good reputation: i said "hello" to the waitress that not respond to me! it's a shame because it has a huge potetntial...

i am not too sure whether to like or dis-like this bistro. i have been to this place few times, used to love it. i mean, i still do love the rhubarb and strawberry pie but the service was just below par for sydney's bistro. the service was rather appalling! no 'hello', no 'good bye' and no 'thank you'. when i paid the bill, the guy behind the counter was answering his mobile phone. no acknowledgment! it's a real shame. the staff certainly didn't make customers feel welcome.

a lot of love has gone into this place and you can tell. what i like most is the cute waitstaff. always busy on weekends but that's to be expected in the heart if potts point. worth a visit.

my cousin took me to this restaurant, and i love it when i entered. beautiful cakes, warm and cozy environment; then.... where are the wait staffs!? we were standing in the corridor, staffs are flying around serving, we will have been completely ignored if didn't catch one and ask for a seat!!! waitress told us to wait 15mins, then she forgot us at the end!!! not really friendly and welcoming staff. so my comment: 5 stars foods and prices with 2 stars services!!! :)
