this used to be one of our go to restaurants until they changed the menu. a lot of items were removed so i stopped going for awhile. gave it another chance a couple of weeks ago and their menu is much better now. the hand rolls are still great and love the tempura still. i hope they bring back the mango ice cream though! definitely a must in ayces.

i am extremely angry with yamamoto’s.

for my birthday my son bought me a gift certificate for $50. he went to the entrance of the restaurant, told them what he wanted, and they gave him one on the spot. earlier this year i ordered a party tray that was about $30. when i went to pick it up, i tried to use the gift certificate and they told me that their policy on gift certificates was that they did not refund money on partial purchases. that if i wanted to use the certificate, i would get no money back from the $50 certificate and loose the $20 or so difference. so, i paid for the tray out of my own pocket. yesterday we decided to have a bunch of people over for sushi and use the whole $50 on a party tray. yamamoto’s refused to honour the gift certificate at all. we argued for a bit and their final word was that they had never ever issued gift certificates and they would never ever redeem one. my son is looking for the receipt, at least the visa receipt, but may have paid cash for it and have no receipt. who knew that redeeming a partial gift certificate and loosing $20 on the deal would have been my best option.

yamamoto is a ayce japanese restaurant amongst the many in city. situated in scarborough this restaurant delivers all one seeks for in an all you can eat japanese haunt!

there are your standard rolls, sushi, and sashimi. many cooked food varieties, snacks and the list goes on. one of the stigmas of ayce japanese places is lacking in the quality relam when it comes to the 🐟!😄 and for that reason i have to commend them for having impressively fresh sashimi and the variety i must say is quite an abundance😮. as on the menu, you are able to find wild herb salmon belly, fresh scallops and beef tataki. all are fresh and tasty i must say!☺

in the cooked food area, there are other unique delights. there are items such as grilled chicken cartilage and snacks such as grilled japanese squid balls (takoyaki) and even a twist from your standard miso soup as fish soup is found there. i really enjoyed the variety found at yamamoto. i also quite fancy their very unique dessert selections as well. the ginger steamed milk and creme brulee are my absolute favorites🍨🍮🍴. i really adored these items at yamamoto as these items are not typically found in other ayce places.😊 if you want to find a nice place for a gathering or just crave japanese food and want a twist from the standard ayce japanese places, i recommend yamamoto to tickle your taste buds!😊

...i hadn’t been to briddlewood mall in a long time so i was pretty amazed that they had a few restaurants inside now. we ended up going to yamamoto japanese cuisine on a whim because it was really close to her house. the place is huge and it’s different from all other sushi all you can eat restaurants because their menu offers a large variety of unique dishes. for example, their dessert menu doesn’t just have the plain old ice cream and fried banana option, there were like 4 different kinds of mouses, crème brulee, etc. …just a little disclaimer though, all the deserts sucked except for maybe the mango yogurt and i have to say the crème brûlée ...that was exceptionally good. they also have over 40 different types of sushi and 30 varieties of rolls and hand rolls to choose from.

service is not the greatest. lunch specials are very cheap with good portion. i have tried the salmon bentos, it is tasty, however, salmon is sometimes dry. sushi is nothing special, just sushi.

review for the "all you can eat"

pros: fish soup, white tuna sashimi , free fountain pop, free lobster (with reservation)

cons: miso soup, edamame beans, hot and sour soup not available, chicken skewers, fried rice

ayce japanese own by chinese.
it was for a birthday celebration. made reservation at 7 and we got seated right away.

they have made us a sushi birthday cake for the birthday girl at no extra cost, which is nice. the down side to that.... sushi cake has a lot of rice thatmade up with sushi pizza. (the fried rice cake)

sushi and sashimi are fresh. great presentation. but all around just on the average side.

they have a la cart menu to choose from. i can see that they offer higher quality sashimi on the a la car menu.

service was terrific. we had couple seniors in our partt and they were well taken care.

i won't go back again!. we were there two nights ago for dinner. we were disappointed about every single dish/food item we ordered. nothing was outstanding. nothing that we wanted to order for the second round, except sashimi because that's the reason i went for ayce. i would not say their fish was not fresh but there was a funny taste to some of them. their bc tuna was rough; and i never had this type of bc tuna when i was in vancouver (many many times). i was disappointed that they did not have the sweet shrimp or scallopes. their sushi and maki were packed with rice - too much rice and very small portion of raw fish on top of it. come on, it is ayce. so i had to put the sashimi on top of the sushi to make it better. the sushi rice was not warm nor soft, and had no taste of the sushi rice. the chef's recommendation was just so so. the kitchen food was just ok. their dessert was not as good as the ayce next to t&t supermarket. i thought they would have ordered them from the same supplier. the only one item i enjoyed was the creme brulee. i wont pay this price for this level of quality of food. it's not worth it.

well, the servie was very good though.

decent. this was my first time at this particular restaurant but i often frequent sushi restaurant. i thought the sushi was quite good, and the lunch specials were very well priced. however, the service was not good. after requesting waters and a fork for my special needs brother the waiter rudely told me to tell him everything i needed at once so he did not have to make multiple trips. as well, while the lunch specials were very well priced they lacked description and having to choose a meal from a small out of focus picture is less than ideal.
