sophisticated, delicious food, great night. my girlfriend and i had a remarkable time monday, may 25th at 7pm. my hat first goes off to our server. (my apologies, however his name escapes me. i believe they seated us at table 31.) he was attentive, cordial and absolutely deserves a raise. if i hadn't seen him attending to other tables, i would've sincerely thought we were the only ones in the restaurant. secondly, describing the food as "incredible" undershoots the appropriate word to describe the flavor, presentation and overall experience that it was. it was perfect. my hat goes off to the chef as well. excellent work. (i had the filet mignon and my girlfriend had the duck) all of this was in addition to the sophisticated, welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant itself. from beginning to end, i was thoroughly impressed. i will be coming back and will be recommending this to every single person i know. thank you all for a wonderful night and for far exceeding the standard of what a restaurant that cares looks like.

i often forget about older spots that are still playing to the large crowds. yia's yia's is a case in point. it is the last of the full service pb&j restaurants still standing, after grand street cafe, coyote grill, paulo and bill's and yahooz closed or were sold. it continues to be packed at all hours, and is a constant in a sea of leawood restaurants that is always in motion. at the urging of a friend who frequents yia's yia's on a regular basis, a group of us went for lunch recently. we took advantage of the salad and sandwich combo, which allows you can order any salad and sandwich and get a half of each. the lobster sandwich sounded like a riff on a classic club, with smoked bacon, baby arugula and tomatoes with ancho mayonnaise. grilled on sourdough bread, it was more like a lobster salad, with the bits of lobster tossed in the mayonnaise rather than layered in chunks

good, could use updating. we moved here almost 6 years ago and one of the first places we ate was yia yias. its always good with an inviting interior but hasn't changed much at all since the first time we dined there.
we love the calamari and the pizzas and the lasagna is just fantastic. service has always been terrific and even when its been a while since you've been there, they seem to remember you and know what you liked and ordered. food is consistently good and fresh though not terribly original.
seems like recently when we are trying to decide where to eat in that area, we think- yia yias? and then say, no... and go somewhere newer with some different menu items like room 39 or north.

this place is way overrated. don't go thirsty because it takes forever to get a drink. was given a happy hour menu just prior to the end of happy hour and tried to order and was told it was too late. the food they brought was just average. drinks were also just average. too many other better places to eat in overland park for the same money.

all i can give is 1 star because we were turned away at the door. they said they were only taking reservations, however, it wasn't posted on the door or their website that this was a reservation only restaurant.

wonderful service. food was divine and we were dining as a corporate event. highly recommend the phyllo brownie with vanilla ice cream. that dish alone is worth the trip!

james beard worthy. i am in awe this evening after having a carnivorous experience of a life time!!! cutting edge culinary at ya ya's featuring a hand cut fillet topped with a veal glaze and the amazing edible delicacies of locally foraged plump wild black morel mushrooms soaked in napa valley cab with round medallions of melting oregon black truffle butter perched on top with partners of creamy potato puree and french green beans accompanying not only the best steak dish that i have ever had in my 54 years but also most unique!!! i was just amazed to hear from our server that they employ their very own food forager to collect wild gourmet edibles for them alone. 5 stars and look forward to learning more about this chef!!!!!

thanksgiving buffet. it was a nice change to not cook for thanksgiving. the dining room was very quiet ( no music blaring like some places) and the table was ready. one member of our family is vegetarian so the lox and trout made his meal all the more enjoyable. the buffet was wonderful! but the chef obviously did not grow up eating turkey and stuffing. the two stuffings offered were mushy, bland and did not resemble any dressing i have ever had. bummer! stove top stuffing is better! thanksgiving is all about the turkey dressing and dessert! there were three choices for dessert. pecan pie it is. but who eats a 1 1/2 inch mini slice of pie on holidays? you could hear the disappointed moan when we saw the pie. there was more whipped cream then pie. don't know if we will go for it again next year.

visited the new location in corbin park this weekend and it was beyond underwhelming. over priced, mediocre food and the waitstaff were laughably bad.

i expected better across the board and have had much better experiences for much lower prices.

great food and staff!. i went to dinner with friends at ya ya's on november 8th. we arrived around 8:30pm and were seated promptly. the hostesses were great and made us feel welcome. we had baba ghanoush and bread to start with and we decided on their special build your own duet by ordering two bistro specials at a reasonable price of $32.00. the entrees were delicious and i plan to go back and order that from the menu again. the waiter was very attentive and provided great customer service. i plan to go back again. on a side note, my sister's bachelorette dinner party was held at this restaurant in july 2013 and they placed us in a nice area for our group. the food was delicious, we had a great time, and i highly recommended this restaurant for special occasions.

food and service. we tried ya ya,s a week ago and were very pleased.the appetizers were excellent and timley. the pork chops we ordered were the biggest i have ever seen! each one was at least one and a half inces thick. i was very supprised by the friendly service, we were treated as if we were the only ones there! i have not experinced that in very many reasturants these days, thanks for a great experience!!

i was very excited to finally getting to try it ...and what a disapointment. for years i had been wanting to try it but i could never find anyone to go with me. finally i got to go with my daughter on our mother daughter day, i was super excited to get to try it since their menu looks amazing. we order some fig and prosciutto pizza and gnocchi. the pizza was alright i've had that exact same pizza a another restaurant and was way better, the gnocchi how ever was disgusting, i love gnocchi and that is the worst i've had in my life, i really tried to eat it b/c i don't like wasting food but i had only a few bites and had to stop b/c i felt like i was going to throw up of how salty and disgusting it was. i felt horrible to not finish it and i usually take food to go if i can't eat it all, but that wasn't worth of going home with me, that dish as only worth of going in the trash. after that my appetite went away and i just wanted to leave. i really wish i would've never gone and just keep thinking it was a good restaurant, rather than knowing i never want to go back.
