when you visit this place, you'll be blown apart by the decor, and if you're a book lover, this is the place for you. it's not really expensive, but nor is it really grand on the taste either. the starters we ordered could definitely have tasted a lot better and not enough on a plate for all 5 of us, so that definitely led to some infighting and compromises.
we had ordered a plate of barbecued chicken (i believe that was the name, i might be wrong) and teriyaki chicken, the latter tasted all over the place and definitely not soothing to the palate.
we then switched over to a thin crustpizzawith grilled chicken toppings and lamb pepperoni which served as the saviour after the below average starters. unlike the traditionalpizzathis arrived cut in 6 squares so the overall shape too was rectangular which was a welcome change.
we then switched to the pasta. we ordered 3, a spaghetti with chicken sausage in red sauce, another a mac and cheese with minced chicken and another alfredo with broccoli and minced chicken. the mac and cheese one was a sure winner, while the spaghetti was again unpalatable.
lastly we went for the desserts and this is where this place truly shines. there were glazed pastries, ice cream and pies which were all amazing to see and amazing to taste. a clear winner here was the blueberry yoghurt ice-cream which is definitely wacky and is not something you find anywhere else, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
all in all, i'd say, from what we realised this place actually focuses more as a book store and the café is actually the side attraction. you'll find authentic books and merchandise here, but the food will leave you wanting.
