wok in the park

this is a great find! everything is carefully prepared - try the old fashioned chicken chow mein - and the "nankin" resurrection of subgum chow mein - delicious! lovely, family owned & operated business, so i patronize as often as possible. this is not your average asian restaurant.loveyou guys!

amazing food - good people running it. i reallylovethis place. they are good people who bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. they will prepare the food however you like it. when i was on a special diet they catered to my complicated needs. thumbs up all the way.

the best of the best. this is a fantastic restaurant that is oh so busy i hate to write a good review. i want to keep this restaurant all to myself. we are regulars and weloveeverything on the menu even though we haven't gotten through it all yet. the "m" is especially delicious as is the subgum chow mein which you won't find on the menu but is the best chow mein ever. the best plan is to take people with you so you can share several different dishes. this is a family restaurant with local people running it. they make you feel like you are eating in their home. it is especially fun when someone is celebrating a birthday. chef jacob and his sisters (and one or tow of their staff) sing the best happy birthday since gustino's. the desserts are artistic creations especially the rhubarb pie. i am going over there and ordering it right now.

since moving to slp in sep. i've been visiting the wok on a very regular basis. it is my most favorite restaurant ever! they are the only place that makes my 13 chili entree.... a 13 chili entree!!lovethis place and the staff are awesome!

awesome flavor. welovewok in the park, it is our "go to" place for birthdays, lunch meetings and dinners with friends. the service is consistently friendly and prompt. there are so many fabulous menu items, our favorites are lemongrass chicken, steak 'n chips, chicken teriyaki, the egg rolls are wonderful. even standards like egg foo young and chow mein are delicious. i recommend wok to everyone i come in contact with, and the feedback is always positive. many thanks to the sisters and their staff for bring such wonderful food and ambiance to st louis park!

our family's "go-to" restaurant. birthdays, out of town guests we want to impress, don't feel like cooking, quick lunch, hot date... whatever the reason to celebrate, wok in the park is the place. even when there's no special reason. i have woken up the next day thinking about the experience from the night before. they are spot-on with their recommendations and the specials will knock your socks off. have never been disappointed in the food, service always makes you feel special, my only complaint is they need to expand the dining room.lovelovelovethe wok!!

love in the park. i am absolutely inlovewith wok in the park. i worked with the johson family while they ran thanh do. they are wonderful people and top-notch entreprenuers. to know the johnson's is to be part of an all inclusive, loving family and this is what you feel when entering their new restaurant. it is obvious from the decor, the wonderful food, and the beaming smiles on the faces of employees and customers alike that wok in the park is really a special addition to the minneapolis/saint paul restaurant community. although i have a special relationship with the family and the space, i truly believe that this place has a homey feeling that transcendents my own personal expereinces and can be felt by all that enter this lovely establishment. guests are always greated with warmth, kindness, and food that is passionatly prepared by their wonderful kitchen staff (headed by the phenomenal jacob johnson, seriously-talk to him for even a few minutes and you will see!). i highly recommend the papaya salad, summer rolls, puffs in the park, berry good curry, thai punch soup, sunrise curry, and hot sacred basil. but also, watch the specials board, because they create ingenious entrees that breath new life into the "asian fusion" culinary genre. when i worked with the johnson ladies at thanh do i was always impressed with their ideology of treating employees fairly. for them, this restaurant is not about garnering culinary notoriety or building a restaurant empire. they have created an environment where they can work with those they care about while serving those they care about and that is what makes wok in the park so unique. it is the kind of family establishment that feels good to patronize. they use quality ingredients as opposed to always opting for the cheapest ingredients. they cater to guests who have special dietary needs. their food is an incredible value and suberbly delicious. i cannot say enough about how wonderful this establishment is and how lucky minneapolis is to have it. i hope everyone has a chance to try it!

fresh and fast. this place truly is about fresh healthy food whether we dine in or wok out! last time we ordered take out, i called in my order 5 min before i stopped in and it was ready almost immediately, delivered with smiles and good cheer. got home and it was still hot and delicious.

friday night's wok in the park. we met our neighbors darrell and shelly at wok in the park on friday and had the best dinner we've had out, since our last visit. we have eaten there three times since they opened, and i pick a new favorite every time. this time, my favorite was the hot sacred basil with chicken (which we ordered without spice for a change). shelly and i were fighting over the last spoonful.

loved the suggestions our lovely waitress made and we agreed wholeheartedly with her choice of wines, beer and sake to go with our meals.

there were many highlights that evening, but when chef jacob came out to greet us with his divine apple walnut cake dessert, we almost fell out of our chairs.

welovethe cuisine, vitality, skill and attention of the staff, ambiance and cleanliness of this place! we're already planning a return visit next week with friends.

high value for the cost -- its hard to build a case for cooking at home on a friday night.

ive been to the wok five times (one time for take out) and i absolutelylovethe szechaun chicken, fried rice, and wings. the place looks great, has a good vibe, and the food is excellent. be prepared for a bit of a wait if you go when its busy. im hooked and will be back soon!
