value out the ears. i visited a couple friends in the area yesterday that are finicky eaters and decidedly not the semi-epicurean that i am, and this cheap chinese was what we could agree upon. it had only two downvotes; could it deliver decent food for the pennies they demanded?
the answer is an emphatic yes. solid chinese, friendly people and an unadorned-but-clean interior. had a vegetarian cashew plate that was loaded with the expensive nuts and rice for only $6. vegetables were warm and crisp, sauce was not too heavy or salty...heck, even all the cashews were large and intact. ultra-fastservicewithout the heat lamp. my 3 other friends all loved what they had.
in addition to the food, i simply have to give props to their menu. infinitely simpler than those other roadmap-like chinese menus. basically, you can order most any protein or vegetarian plate in any cantonese style for a flat price. chef's specialty dishes are also priced flatly. this translates into amazing deals and no surprises on your check. this ideology oozes efficiency and respect for the customer. rare day indeed that i eat budget chinese that impresses me.
