winter garden - the landmark london

the champagne brunch in the winter garden at the landmark hotel is just too good to resist. it's 3 hours of non stop champagne and access to an extensive buffet containing a wide variety of lovely dishes.

you can go for breakfast, perhaps have an omelette from the omelette station, or go for typical brunch dishes like eggs benedict. there was also a lovely fish pie, lots of salmon dishes, and a really good range of seafoodand sushi. if you prefer lunch to brunch, you also have soups and roasts.

for those of us with a sweet tooth, this place is an absolute delight, as there is no skimping on the dessert selection either. desserts included a chocolate fountain, sorbets and ice cream, tarlets, fruit and cakes off all sorts. i especially loved the marmalade meringues and the cup cakes.

in fact to really appreciate what's on offer here, it is best to make this the only meal of the day.

the venue is lovely too.

this has to be one of the best brunch spots in london.

sits in the centre of the landmark hotel, surrounded by palm trees that give
diners privacy and remove them from the everyday goings on around them. the
design of the restaurant is one of the most novel and pleasurable i’ve sat in ;
spacious and grand, with a sense of calm and luxury, without feeling
pretentious.

the high, glass
ceiling gives a wonderful sense of space, which many restaurants of today lack.

we were immediately
attended to by flexible, professional staff who were happy for us to make
tweaks to the menu due to dietary requirements or personal preferences.

thefoodis
high quality and there’s a great selection of dishes ; the salmon ceviche for
starters was succulent and delicate- the perfect way to get our appetite ready for main course. then followed a hearty and flavoursome beef,
served under a sea of rich gravy and alongside green beans. my pan seared
bass had a wonderful, crispy outer that preserved the softness of the fish
inside, and was served with a potato fondant and a delicious salsa.

for dessert
came a warm chocolate bombe, served alongside coconut ice cream which balanced the
richness of the cake, and melted wonderfully when met with the gooey chocolate
centre.

all in all, one
of the best restaurant designs, as well as great service and very decent food. the
winter garden should be visited just for the decor and dining experience, if
nothing else !

really nice place in a great location! it'd absolutely brilliant right in the english countryside, and thefoodis good too. o am very impressed, would go there again every day of the week.

i have always wanted to visit winter garden for afternoon tea, but never did. i am glad we finally made it for dinner instead. we came here for their £35 for 3-courses with a glass of champagne cocktail each for the london restaurant festival.

it is a delight to walk in to the landmark hotel and be welcomed with the most charming arched entrance, lit up very warmly. the most enchanting view was the tall palm trees and very high ceiling, almost like a very large green house but prettier.  

thefoodwas beautifully presented, well cooked and tasty. along with friendly service; beautiful, elegant and romantic ambience in the 100 year old building, it made a fabulous evening out. 

i will definitely return for afternoon tea the next time.

i recently tried this place for a morning meal and overall was a fine experience. thefoodwas pretty delicious but it was expected from an expensive place like this one. the service was what one could expect from a buffet. the ambience was pretty cosy and comfortable. all in all it was a fine experience but still not worth the price it was charged for.

i recently tried this place for some tea experience and i loved it totally. the quality of tea was amazing with wonderful flavours to it. thefoodwas excellent, especially the cakes which were delicious and the other options were quite decent as well. the service was pretty decent but i felt it could have been better. anyhow i would love to visit this place again and would recommend others to try it as well.

i'm a regular at this place , and have never been disappointed , one reason i always come back . thefoodis great , good quality , and well presented too . the drinks are readily available . will go back again soon . would recommend to all .

this is a very casual place to celebrate a special occasion at. we went here to celebrate someone's eightieth birthday and found the staff to be very accommodating, quick and efficient. thefoodis very delicious and served in generous portions. i recommend this place to everyone due to the impeccable service and great food.

i have had the opportunity of having lunch at the restaurant and was very glad at the experience. the restaurant is perfect for a sunny afternoon and the ambiance is cool and refreshing. thefoodis delicious and sumptuous. i recommend this place for special dates too. the location is favorable too.

i booked a table at this place for lunch. we arrived towards late afternoon and upon arriving, when we mentioned to the waitress, that we had booked for lunch, she was rather surprised. anyhow, once seated, our server was friendly and service was not rushed. thefoodwas average and overpriced. i would definitely not recommend this place.

the location of this place makes you feel that you have been transported to a fairy tale land. the place is magnificent and you could visit for a supper. the quality of thefoodis just excellent. i would recommend you to try everything from sandwiches to scones to cakes. although the place is a little expensive but it does call for an amazing dining experience.

i would come here very often had it not been for the high prices and the tiny portions of the food. the desserts are to die for. the atmosphere is calm and chilled out. the service is pot on. the drinks are delectable. i have not yet tried thefoodhere, so shall do it next time.

my review here is not for the winter garden, but on the landmark on the whole.

i had my graduation ceremony here in 2010, just loved it. though i did not pay a penny for the champagne or the food, but it was a wonderful experience.

the ambience is amazing, and thefoodwas fantastic. we had live music playing and had a great time.
