this was our first food track rally and it did not disappoint. when we got there, we had to check out all the trucks first. there were so many! we started at nyo. hubby ordered kangaroo and antelope burgers ($10 each). i ordered the fire roooo (“kangaroo, jalapeno, pepper jack & colby jalapeno cheese,” $13). we got two orders of fries, regular and purple sriracha (“sriracha, blue cheese, bacon fries,” $5 for regular, $6 for purple), plus two orders of hog wild (“krispy kreme donut stuffed with wild boar bacon,” $6 each). while we were waiting for our nyo food to get ready, we went to renny’s oki doki and ordered buta belly (“crispy pork belly with hoisin sauce & daikon slaw,” $6), azama gyoza potstickers (“our handmade, pan seared pork dumplings,” $6 fo

the menu is a variety of creative sandwich-esque portable food, which is targeting the good looking and affluent drunks scattered about howard avenue on any given weekend (or week) night...

disappointed in the lack of professionalism. it's sad that i am writing a review and have never even had the opportunity to try the food! wicked wiches promotes themselves as being available for catering, but that is not so easily accomplished.

i have tried several times on multiple occasions to book the food truck for events- once for a corporate event and once for a personal party. i have been blown off both times. each time i called several times, left messages, and spoke with a nice gal named chelsea. chelsea gave my message to the owner, promising that he would call me back. when that didn't happen for several days i called again. this time she told me she would give my number to his wife, and that she would call me right back. it's been over a week and i still haven't heard anything.

it's a shame that someone so eager to do business with a place is repeatedly blown off~ if i had clients begging to do business with me i would certainly handle it in a different manner.

perhaps one day i will be able to taste the reportedly delicious cuisine of ww.....

had my first experience with wicked wiches at the food truck rally that was held in tampa. this was a busy day for these folks but that did not in anyway interfere with them to provide good food and great service. we were delighted with the menu choices we made. i ordered and really enjoyed the broken egg on krispy kreme donut. dave ordered the monty cristo and it was really good. together we ordered the "witch bombs" this is homemade jalapino poppers. as the name says they were the bomb!!! this experience cost us $20.00 and was worth every penny. if you are lucky enough to have them roll in near you, drop what you are doing and give them a try.

great food, quick service. the service was fast and friendly. had the prime rib sandwich and it good both in taste and quantity. the sweet potato chips are worth going for on their own.

creative in name, ideas, and presentation... no more.. i've managed to snag bites of the monte cristo, big lebrowski, dr. pepper chicken, sloppy mary, and those sweet potato chips. i maintain my belief that hot, lunch food should be salty-- and those sweet potato chips with some added sugary drizzle should not be served together! (but good on its own)

however great in appearance, the flavor wasn't as great. honestly, i'll blame the frying batter. although the batter managed to stay thin and keep everything inside soft and moist, the batter seemed to mute any potential flavors caused by the sausage meat or chicken-- is that even possible? if you don't want the meat to shine, at least let the dough be flavorful... it wasn't. bland, bland, bland. at least the looming, black food truck looked very cool.

value: i'll compare this truck to the ones you see at state fairs. same gimmicks, same prices of the same sizes, and same non-wow, fried flavor.

this guest blog was written by a friend of mine dena pham. she blogs on her food blog dena loves food in tampa. as many of you know, i am currently studying abroad in south korea and i really appreciate her writing up a post for my readers on a very important food event in tampa. if you like what you see, like her blog on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/dena-loves-food/181586071852396 . stay tuned for more tampa blogs as many are being finalized at the moment and don't forget to checkout the taco bus wednesday on man vs. food . food trucks have been on the rise lately , especially with food network's show called the great food truck race . tampa may be a bit behind with the new "in" but we are catching up pretty fast. last saturday, tampa had their first food truck rally and it went a little too well! sponsored by 352 media group and tasting tampa , they were only expecting 1,000 people, but shockingly around 5,000 were able to experience the first food truck rally in tampa. fo

disappointed...:( i am a big fan of gourmet food trucks, so when i heard about the debut of wicked 'wiches, i was excited to try them out. especially, since unlike other major cities, the food truck frenzy has not really evolved here yet. unfortunately, wicked 'wiches fell flat for me. i tried them out twice. during my first visit, i tried their grilled portabello mushroom sandwich. the bread was delicious (especially knowing they bake their own bread) and the sandwich itself was fine. i liked the portabello and the grilled vegetables; however, the balsamic vinaigrette could have been distributed more evenly throughout the sandwich. and, the sweet potato chips were too thin and not crispy enough. with this being said, i did enjoy the bread and the other items on the menu looked good so i wanted to try them out again. it was during my second visit that, unfortunately, my enthusiasm over wicked 'wiches deflated. i ordered the moroccan smash ball and fried maduro pickles. the bread for the slider was surprisingly stale, the lamb and beef patty was thin and dry and under seasoned. the fried maduro pickle was ok...i liked the dipping sauce on the side. in addition, i was surprised that unless you specifically ask for your food to be wrapped or put into a covered container, it is handed over in an open food tray. this was my experience on both occasions, and it may not be the same for others, but wanted to note this.

fantastic food truck. given the dearth of food trucks in the tampa bay area, i could hardly contain my enthusiasm when the plans for wicked 'wiches were announced. after following their social media posts, i was finally able to sample their fare (located them was extremely easy, which was a plus). i opted for the broken eggs toastwich, which was delightful. the traditional ham-egg paring worked well and the combination was even better on their freshly baked bread. as a side, the sweet potato chips with caramel sauce were irresistible, and the sauce wasn't cloyingly sweet. for $7.50, the massive sandwich and chips were a great deal. i'm definitely looking forward to trying more of their offerings.

wickedawesomewiches. i can still remember my first time like it was today. cuz it is today. the sun was shinning in the tamps sky and a gentle breeze tickled the air. i walked out of my office building to be greeted by the dark steed of a truck. the line indicated to me that i was to be pleasured by a strong yet kind food truck. first i started out with the turdunken smash ball, a little foreplay if you will. as i softly nibbled, it gushed its cranberry ginger juices. magical. i was now ready to taste the deep texas, yes i no longer a young girl. i was now a woman.

turdunken was my favorite.

cant wait to try more of the wiches
