whisky samba

we decided to go brunch at whisky samba on sunday. to our surprise, they had a very specific assamese brunch menu to serve. skeptical at first, we decided to get it out. not too expensive, around 2k plus additional 1k forcocktails(and they errr serving fresh mimosas!).

the food to our surprise was really good. it was most def great to try out a new cuisine and the live music made it all even better. the good included a lot of sea food and the main course was very typical, puri and curries, super heavy but yum.

absolutely pathetic service. had gone this past friday night. this was my third trip to this place in 5 months. had earlier gone to attend bday parties of friends and had the exact same experience. the place is always over crowded, there’s just no place to stand. people and servers keep bumping into you and it gets highly annoying. whether you’ve a table or you’re at the bar, you’ll easily have to wait for 20-25min to get a regular drink, even a glass of water for that matter. the food is also not that great.cocktailsare good though. have tried whisky samba sour, capricious, and absinthe but present, and all were good but won’t recommend if you’ve to wait so long to get a single drink. the management really needs to hire more staff and should not fill up the place with too many people.

what an amazing place. definitely the best place in gurgaon for a classy fun evening. the menu and service along with the amazing bar andcocktailswere awesome. special thanks to the manager rajeev for ensuring we had a fantastic time. a round of applause to our server robin who was spot on and most efficient. the sushi roll and thai chicken and prawn dumplings were superb. would be back again very soon.

heard a lot about the place for itscocktailsand it didn’t disappoint. one of the best places forcocktailsi’ve been too. tried the hips don’t lie (vodka), sin on the beach (rum), tokyo old fashioned (whiskey) and all three were absolutely amazing.

one of the best places in gurugram whether for drinks or for dining inn.
the collection of the alcohol is one of the best in the whole of north india. thecocktailsare absolutely amazing and very refreshing and new. coming to the food, the dimsums and the sushi are very very tasty. the prawn cheung fun is delicious.
the pork belly is too good.
next time will focus on desserts as well.

after a long time me and my husband decided to go on a date night and we short listed “whisky samba”

we heard a lot about their amazingcocktailsand need i say they nailed it. we tried four differentcocktailsand each one of them seemed better than the other.

good ambience and quality of food

whisky samba was on my list since a long time and finally made a satisfying visit. the place is as usual expensive, trying nearly fine to meet the standards in food andcocktailsto be in line with the pricing. i tried tiny samba punch and old smoke. samba punch looked elegant with the flower inside and was a potent flavorsome cocktail. old smoke had the smoky apeal and was a fine try. in food, tried chicken and chestnut gyoza and adored it. zucchini carpaccio was my frist try and was just fine, not really happy with the blend of flavours. sous vide chix leg tasted decent, the sauce wasn't the best compliment to the preparation and the side of rice cake helped, didn't justify the price. ambience is beautiful.

the most expensive restaurant of gurgaon or rather ncr in standalone category, frequented by mostly youngsters, cool environs, we munched on seafood wanton, spinach dimsums and wasabi prawns, menu is complex and adventurous, ended up with chocolate souffle, basically place is forcocktailsand drinks, also a great weekend restaurant to enjoy music and dancing.

until an year and a half ago since it opened the place was 5 stars and a pet hangout destination. however, the music and the unbalancedcocktailsruin the blind decision of hopping over to the place now.

thecocktailsare great but sadly they don’t have anything that justifies the prices on their food menu. for the price that is charged the food needs to be spectacular but is underwhelming

a great place for an after office break out. great whiskeycocktailsfor those who want to experiment. else a great collection of single malts. enough finger foods to satisfy the  hunger pangs. great service.

this place is super amazing. such great vibes and superb crowd makes is super duper amazing.

a much hyped restaurant with overpricedcocktailswithout the punch. and the food has failed three times i have dined here. there is absolutely nothing good about any of the dishes. the saving grace is the decor and overall vibe.

finally decided to make the trip from one part of town to another to celebrate a couple of occasions together. a promotion, a commissioning of an officer, an ias preparation finally coming to an end.

out here with the boys, in the mood to get a few fancycocktailsand then the regular poison down the system. being greeted and seated with alcoholic welcome drinks named boarding passes was just great. tasted equally great as well. ordered the followingcocktails:
1. van gogh swirls and smokes
2. whiskey samba sour
3. mr. spice and nice (plum oriented cocktail)

the whiskey sour was the one that suited my palate the most with the spice & nice blowing me away on presentation. the overall cocktail experimentation session pleasurable.

the food is where i was taken by surprise! it outdid thecocktailsand i wasn't expecting that for even a brief second. decided to go with a chicken with fermented chilli and stir fried pork belly.

taste on point! plating on point! portion size on point! food experience completely on point!

the chicken dish is essentially a chilli chicken preparation but with each ingredient being individually flavoured especially the beets.

the show stopper for the evening by far goes to the pork belly! tender yet firm in a sauce that gave me the urges to lick the bowl clean. the rice that accompanied it was of similar fashion. independent enough to enjoy by itself.

a great place to enjoy a fewcocktailswith the boys and definitely worth dropping by for a meal if this is the level of food that has to be offered.
