it's ok but overpriced, nicesetting at the end of the wharf. food was ok but very overpriced for what it was.
better off going down the way to the precinct for similar quality food at half the prices.

good food, attentive service and anicelocation. we had a very pleasant meal overlooking the harbour.

the only negative was the wine list, which was expensive for very average wine.

came here yesterday for my sister's birthday lunch and boy did the chef deliver! we ordered:
- roasted pork brioche bun, cucumber, kewpie ($7)
- hand-cut parpadelle pasta, chilli, garlic & coriander marinated prawns, napoli sauce, smoked local barramundi ($33) - must try!!
- 300g porterhouse, celeriac puree, sautéed beans, jus ($36)
- shoestring fries ($8)

i personally think the roasted pork in the buns could have been a little more soft and less dry, and perhaps more kewpie would have been nice. still a prettynicesmall plate/entree though!

the main dishes on the other hand were too die for. the hand-cut parpadelle pasta was absolutely amazing; soft, melt in the mouth, and just yum! the whole pasta dish was honestly one of the best pasta dishes i've ever had, and even more so because the parpadelle was hand-made.
my sister's steak on the other hand wasn't exactly medium rare (also hard to cut through), and was a bit too sweet for her liking.

afterwards, the following desserts were ordered:
- dark chocolate fondant, honeycomb, salt-caramel ice-cream, malted milk tuille (allow 20 minutes) ($16)
- mixed berry and praline nougat çlacé, berry compote, chantilly cream ($15)

i don't know if it was because we ordered the desserts late but it just wasn't that great. the whole fondant dessert didn't work (with the ice-cream melting becoming watery), and the mixed berry praline dessert was too full on and there was way too much of it.

so overall review? i really enjoyed the mains but the desserts were such a disappointment. really wish i could give a 4/5 because being a darwin restaurant, you really don't find anything like wharf one food & wine. better luck next time!

was staying nearby at the vibe and found this busy restaurant by the waterfront the other night so decided to pop on in w a colleague for dinner.. apologies for the lack of photos!!

we got there at 6 and were seated outside w aniceview of the water. ordered a refreshing watermelon passion mocktail for $8 which was delicious! perfect for the weather. i got the roasted pork belly w cauliflower puree and roasted broccolis. it was delicious! i polished off the plate. a but more of a glazed sauce or something would have completed the dish for me. but the pork was tender and crispy skin was crunchy. my colleague ordered the lamb shanks and it looked huge!!! she did mentioned it tasted wonderful. we were both so stuff we didn't have enough room for desserts which were a shame!

only some minor point off - we only spotted one waitress for a group of tables so she was absolutely swamped by 6.30. our foods took a lil while to arrived. perhaps at least 30min? the bread for starters were really hard to eat also. prices are a lil higher for mains - $36-45.

but overall a wonderful experience.

prettynicespot to relax and enjoy some tapas and a cold drink. overlooking the beach and inflatable thing also would suit parents of teens, as you can easily keep an eye on them. like all food in the north it's overpriced and just not great. there was one standout dish (the barra, great flavours) but in general the rest was uninspired. the staff too aren't invested in the food scene of darwin, this is part of the problem. no one here is passionate about food, or local food (despite the misguided mantra "we can grow anything here") and this is part of the reason food is bad up north.
