pizza ingredients?. after 2 separate calls i was still unable to find out if soy was used in thepizzasauce. i was able to determine that u use rice flower in the dough. the woman who answers the phone was apparently so busy, even though she said no one was in the restaurant, that she couldn't wait for me to complete my question. i suggest that you consider training staff to ask,is that all sir?

if staff has to run back and forth several times to answer on customer, doesn't that actually take much more time than getting all the questions answered at once?

best pizza!. my cousins brought me and my family there at it was the bestpizzai've ever had in my life! we're from florida and i haven't hadpizzaeven close to as good as it was there! the sauce, cheese, everything was fresh!

fantastic pizza! my family shared the pepperonipizzaand the greek chicken pizza. both were delicious.pizzais thin crust / ny style. also had the tomato / mozzarella / basil salad. crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, thick cheese, balsamic glaze dressing. prices are fantastic. i definitely recommend this restaurant--seating is a bit tight, but it's worth it!

bright, inviting space half a block off main in downtown hendersonville. we tried the soup of the day which was quite good and two pizzas, mushroom and prosciutto. both were good but not great. for neapolitan-style pizza, we thinkpizzapura in asheville is the best in the area. pleasant service.

where to eat in hendersonville when you’re on your way to the flat rock playhouse  well, forpizzaloving folks like my wife and i we had to try out the much talked about west first wood-fired pizza.  we arrived early anticipating a busy night since it was a weekend but we were still surprised by the wait at the door regardless.  i mentioned to the host that we needed to get in quickly so we could make the show but i don’t think that did much good.  i’m sure everyone there wanted to have their experience but still make it somewhere else on time. the wait really wasn’t too bad and the server did her best to oblige us as well.  we took the time while waiting for our table to decide on dinner.  for me that is a tough ordeal since i believe that every second you have prior to the server writing down the order is available for me to change my mind.  this drives my wife crazy at times but she knows that i have difficulty making up my mind with so many choices that look good.

wonderfulpizzaexperience! we're always searching for greatpizzaand west first is our new favorite. unfortunately, we live three hrs away. they are open on mondays. enjoy! decor is great also. love the mosaic tile onpizzaoven.

where the locals go. my husband and i have now lived in this area for three years. good pizza, we thought, was going to be very tough to find after we had moved from a large city with much to offer in the way of good pizza. much to our surprise, we happened one night on west first. entranced by the beauty of their interior, particularly their wood fired oven, as well as the long wait, we knew we had found success without even trying their pizza. and, oh my, their pizza! we are particularly fans of thin, crispy crust and they have certainly nailed down their recipe and techniques. their servers are also consistently prompt, polite and helpful when attempting to make a decision of what to order. i am always anxious to learn what theirpizzaspecial is for the night whenever we visit this place. this is usually what i order, however their salmonpizzaand black beanpizzaare standard favorites. i have not tried any of their other dish offerings, as i am always too excited for pizza. however, my husband has, and i can assure you that these are also fresh, well-prepared and always delicious. now, after three years, this place is still one that i am excited about when we decide to go. we will continue to come back, as we have not once had a bad experience. don't be discouraged if you encounter a long line, as all good things (and all great pizza) come to those who wait.

wonderful pizza. i get the same thing every time i go...black beanpizzawhich is a west first original. it is absolutely wonderful. i have heard a rumor that they were going to take it off the menu. i certainly hope not; it is great!

love the wood-fired thin-crust pizza. in downtown hendersonville on business at lunchtime, i found a parking spot for my sequoia (next to a number of priuses) right in front of west first, a half block off hendersonville's charming main street, so i popped in and had the 9-inch personalpizza-- cheese with pepperoni -- and a green man porter draft. loved it, baby! i had intended to take home some of thepizzato my wife, but it was so good i ate it all.

i also enjoyed the atmosphere. the main dining room is a large rectangle, anchored at the far end by the open wood-fired oven blazing away. dominating the left side of the room are two large, striking paintings, said to be portraits, more or less, of the owner's grandparents. the other other long wall is brick. the ceiling is high, in the standard industrial restaurant style with duct work showing. there is also a pleasant small dining area in a covered patio outside, and a second level loft.

the waitress was efficient and pleasant.

thepizzawith microbrew draft came to a little over $12 (after tax but before my usual generous tip), which was reasonable.

always great!. always my first choice when i want a perfect meal with a nice brew. i have never been disappointed
with the food or the service. just the fact that the same staff has been there for years says a lot about management. being bakers from the start, thepizzais amazing.....but all the other pasta dishes and soups are freaking soooooooo good. hats off to everyone there!!!!

not the greatest. while visiting asheville, decided to make the journey down to west first wood-firedpizzabased on the urbanpoon reviews. the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. we had to wait a bit (friday night), but it wasn't too bad. our waitress seemed nice, we ordered salads and a cheese pizza.

i really enjoyed my salad, especially the homemade dressing. wife thought she had too much dressing on hers. regardless, our experience went down from here. it took us roughly 30-40 minutes after we had received our salads to get our cheese pizza. we also had to watch other tables, who were seated way after us, get their food. our waitress offered no explanation other than it was taking awhile. something went wrong; either our order wasn't submitted correctly, they burned our pizza, or some other kitchen mishap. but like i said, no explanation.

pizza was average. the crust on 3 or 4 slices was burnt.
