i don't get it!. after reading all of these rave reviews, mywifeand i decided to give wsc a try. the onsite parking is a plus in a town where parking is at a premium. once inside, we ordered our drinks. mywifehad a large latte and i had a large drip coffee. her latte was ok but my dc had a strange after taste that seemed to be related to the paper cup it was served in. it was still drinkable, but there was a cardboard after taste that was distracting. we seated ourselves in 2 upholstered chairs on the south side of the room and i was immediately taken aback by the badly soiled condition of both chairs. they appeared to be older and had likely been used elsewhere before they were placed into service at wsc. the arms were bad enough that i felt compelled to wash mine after coming onto contact with them. between the chairs was a very worn and chipped bent plywood table/ magazine rack. looked like it was ready for the free pile at a garage sale to me. there were a couple of additional upholstered chairs across the room but the remainder of the chairs were plastic with chrome legs. there is a roll up garage door with glass panels in the front which was slightly raised for ventilation. the interior walls are a pale yellow and the light fixtures were cheap looking. everything looked worn and dated to me.there was a large table in the center of the room that was occupied by 8 seniors (i'm a senior, myself). i looked on in amusement as one of them was eating from a tupperware bowl that contained something resembling a salad that she'd brought from home. another lady was busy dispensing some concoction out of a naturopathic looking brown bottle via eyedropper into the mouths of those at the table that would submit to her administrations. she then began to circle the table with a small spray bottle misting everyone with another concoction. it was all mildly entertaining but i wondered if this same crowd had been asked by mcdonald's to take their business elsewhere. mywifespotted some zucchini bread in the pastry case and asked me to get her a slice. it was ok but i thought $3.75 was a bit steep. all of this being said, the place was packed and i cannot for the life of me understand why. next time out, we'll opt for the red twig where the coffee is imho much better and the atmosphere more appealing.
