ate here over the weekend and it was lovely. booked a table, we were seated straight away and service was always quick for both drinks and meals. pizza was delicious.. loved the thin crust. tiramisu wasn't the best but still good to finish off my meal.

i was passing through with my wife and we decided to grab lunch here as it was just off the main road and it looked like a great place to sit and enjoy the sun.

however, the menu selection was limited and food wasn't good value for money. for the price we were expecting higher quality. the blue boy pizza was supposed to have gorgonzola on the topping, which is a strong tasting blue cheese, but we couldn't taste it at all - not even a hint of it. it was disappointing.

on the plus side, the coffee was good and the service was ok.

this place has one of the best wood fire pizza's i have had! totally worth it! the service level is fantastic! a must try if you are driving by or visiting mount martha

looks great! nice place to sit and people watch, or indeed to be watched by other people, who glare at your idiocy for having chosen to dine at a place where the prices are so dramatically inflated, you might have paid that kind of money at cafe e cucina in south yarra. however, volpino isn't remotely close to that kind of service, class or quality.

volpino is a great place for any occasion, the service was great the pizzas were devine and it was very laid back and welcoming! we loved it!

can safely say this place makes some of the best pizzas i've ever had! 100% recommend they are worth the price you pay for authentic italian cuisine.

my friends and i decided we would try this place today for the first time. we were very disappointed. firstly the menu was lacking. it had only 2 pasta items on their menu which is very shocking for an italian restaurant. although my friends and i happen to be italian, so we thought we would give you guys a try even though we are big pasta lovers.  we picked the only pasta options on the menu which was pasta with meatballs and carbonara. after waiting 55+ minutes for our food, we were slowly getting agitated. when it arrived we were actually gobsmacked. the pasta with meatballs was legitimately a handful of pasta that resembled and tasted like home brand pasta with two all so mini meatballs. the carbonara was just as bad tasting and resembled kraft mac n cheese in a box. for $25 we were very angry and hungry. my friends and i aren't afraid to dish $30+ for a main meal just as long as its tasty and a reasonable amount for the money. neither of these things occurred at your restaurant. unfortunately, we will not be returning to your restaurant due to it being severely overpriced for what your serving.

got take away pizzas and they were all delicious- thin base and woodfired
the service was average but the place was buzzing and had a nice vibe.

my boyfriend and i have just been too volpino, it started out lovely with good customer service from our waitress. my boyfriend ordered a pizza and i ordered a carbonara, i told the waitress i wasn't too hungry and would only eat a small serve, she checked and said it would be ok for me to have a kids size carbonara. the meals came out and the pasta looked like mac and cheese, was tasteless and had 3 pieces of meat in it. my boyfriends pizza was ok but for $22 i would expect better quality, flavours and presentation. when paying the bill i mentioned that the pasta i had was disappointing, i said it nicely as i hate to complain. the man serving me made me feel awkward and didn't know how to take constructive criticism on board. disappointing and i won't recommend to any family or friends and i certainly won't be returning

first time eating here tonight and it was fantastic. very attentive staff, excellent food and reasonable prices. the saganaki entrée was a particular highlight it was cooked so that it was very slightly crispy and served with olives, rocket and onion - all sprinkled with oregano. will definitely return again soon.

excellent food and service. we went to volpino on friday night for my mum's 79th birthday - there were 12 of us and there no complaints from any one! from the outset the service was excellent, very attentive without being pushy and considering how busy they were that night we never had to wait for service or assistance. i love the menu it is the sort of food i enjoy eating and in fact the sort of food i love to cook. the pizza was very authentic, thin crust simple toppings fresh good quality ingredients. i had squid ink pasta with seafood - all of it delicious and the serving size was spot on. my wife had the fish which was delicate fresh clean and also delicious. i could go on about all of the dishes we ordered and ate but quite simply the food and the service was excellent and i was impressed. they were also happy for us to bring in a birthday cake which they hid and then delivered to our table with candles burning. thanks for a great night to everyone at volpino and friday night!! i will definitely be back.

volpino wins!. took my family to this sea side venue on the weekend and was very happy with the ambiance, service and fare. great fresh product including the skull island prawns which were a hit. the owners have set high standards for this bistro style venue and take great care in delivering a great experience. happily recommend this to antbody looking for quality food in a delightful setting without breaking the budget - well done all.

very dissapointed! lot of hype! only go if they know you or think your "someone"!!. at first staff just attentive until friends or "regulars" arrived and distracted staff totally...so easy decision not to have desert, cheeses or coffee!
sagonaki pretty average, much better elsewhere on the peninsula, barramundi "pub" standard, actually i've had better in a pub...lacked flavour and skin no where near crisp as described in menu.
so warning to visitors over the xmas break...if i'm local how will you be treated??!!
no kitchen ruling here...must be making money too easily!

top marks to this italian bistro. i took my high school kids out for a special end-of-school celebratory dinner here and found it to be the most sensational dining experience of the year. a great ambience, with speedy and friendly staff, top wine list and absolutely delicious food. you can always tell when the synergy is right as a happy work place had this lovely italian bistro by the sea humming. we're giving volpino top marks!
