went for lunch with a friend @voila and it was a good choice.

it’s on the luxury side, the restaurant is designed to make you feel posh. ambiance is nice, music not too loud so we can have conversations.

we started with curry leaf shrimps which tasted quite good due to pimento butter glaze. then we had oreganochickentikka which is a fusion between local and european flavour. for main we tried mutton keema dosa. nice and crunchy dosa with soft keema, delicious dish. we ended with some small tarts given complimentary as dessert, nice way to end the meal.

the place is on the pricey side of course, but definitely worth trying.

when was the last time you were intrigued by a place and the experience just stopped there. voila is an exception to this trend. not only is the ambience top class but so is their food and drinks. the ambience is classy, chic and feels luxurious.

mocktails~ nerd culture~
the sweet hints of passion fruit with the smoked flavour is just so refreshing after a long summer day. their mocktails are here to stay for long! both for their taste and innovation. we couldn't stop at just one.

pulihora spicedchickenlegs with glazed butter~
thechickenwas just as tasty and nostalgic just as it's name suggests. the meat was so tender and nicely cooked that it hardy took any effort to enjoy it off the bone. thechickenis so tasty that you won't even realize that there were dips served alongside.

chettinadchickenpasta with gunpowder~
to my surprise the portion of this pasta is the tiniest that i have had but trust me when i say that it is one of the best i have ever had. the pasta with coconut milk and chettinadchickenis unusually good that the critic of fusion food in me, cheered with joy. definitely a must try if you don't mind the small portion.

grilled prawns with tobiko cream~
the prawns were nicely cooked and fresh but it didn't have any particular distinct taste. the dip served aside was good. but thechickendishes were clearly the winner.

whitechickentikka with garlic naan~
unlike uptown places that serve just average main course, this place ups your expectations with every dish. thechickencurry and naan were both delicious and complimented each other well.

desserts~ boondi laddu with cream and nitrogen rose can be tried for the experience.

overall experience was amazing after so long. the staff was patient and the chef himself visited us to make the dessert. definitely a thumbsup for their hospitality.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

cost~ it is an uptown place and i am sure we understand that the experience comes at a cost. cant complain!

voila has a great weekend vibe with an extremely classy ambience. i would say i got more of a roman feel and the food experience was too good. can improve on the desserts menu for sure. also you should definitely up the drinks menu. but the seafood andchickenwas fresh and outstanding in taste and presentation.

must visit for everyone who enjoys good food with drinks, as you wont find any brews here.

while there are quite a few fine dines in the the city, voila has come here to set the standard as luxury dining! how luxe is it?

their ambience/interiors are truly a mark of luxury right from waiting area. even their restaurant entrance will give you a grandeur feel. almost every inch of their place is a photogenic place, their choice of colors, interiors, setting of tables is impressive.
more or less, one would expect the same level in the food too? did it reach the expectations? let's dig in!

once we were seated, we were welcomed with their in house spl amuse bouche tart. it was lovely 😋
we then ordered walnut soup and onion soup ( these are the only 2 available on their menu).
both were attractive by the looks. while walnut soup did leave an impression, onion soup was way too sweet for what it has to be and we couldn't enjoy it much.
moonglet with wasabi cream, lamb pate with seed bun, curry leaf shrimps with butter glaze and oreganochickentikka with garlic oil was part of beginnings.
moonglet was decent. curry leaf shrimps did stand out of the starters with its ooziness in every bite and buttery taste, just that it did miss on the main ingredient flavor - curry leaf.
oreganochickentikka was nothing special, just about good with no much hint of oregano.

lamb pate with seed bun did fail miserably on our table though. while quantity of the dish is one thing, quality of bread is what put us off mainly. every tear of bread had crumbles shatter on the plate which suggested bread wasn't fresh. post our dinner, all of us who had this had a bloat of stomach and uneasiness which conformed that there indeed problem with fermentation/freshness of bread.

aloo asparagus sabzi and dal gosht were part of mains with indian breads. surprisingly we found aloo much better than dal gosht which was their star dish. again, both were no nonsense simple dishes.

while ambience/interiors set the bar very high, food did not meet that bar though. food was definitely decent/good, what we felt is that the same luxury quotient is missing the food, pricing of the dishes isn't a big thing, they are competitive. meeting the same grandeurness in the food too is a thing. may be the looks of the place did spoil us to expect more, but that's how it was for us 🙂

can you visit the place? definitely - you can have an experience for yourself!

this is purely the opinion of us on the table, it could definitely be different for others.
