the steak was one of the best i've ever had: perfectly cooked medium rare with a wonderful crust. no sauce needed. i tried the sautéed mushrooms and those were amazing too. fantastic food but obviously very expensive; would only go for very special occasions.

this place is great for date night❗️ i’m a big fan on their steaks , chicken and lamb chops. their scallops cheese potatoes are great. some advice, if you go on a special day make sure you make reservations early abs get there early cause their valets is slow and always backed up

one of the best cut of steak i have ever had, tasty, and broiled perfectly. baked potato was huge. unfortunately no room for desert. pricey but very very good food. note: 2/28/2017: it has been a few years since my last stop. food remains incredible. today had the farm raised ny strip, taste was incredible a very tender cut. still one of the best steaks i have ever had and i travel a lot. cannot speak enough of their signature baked potato.

i visited the steakhouse during houston restaurant's week last year on recommendation by a colleague. this place is massive.

i took my seat at the chef's table, ordered a 3 course meal. the first course was salads. the second course was the steak, well done. the third course was ice cream which was the fantastic.

cost $45 for the 3 course dinner as it restaurant's week, usually cost much higher.

restaurant will donate $7 to the houston food bank from each dinner sold. food bank will provide 21 meals from this donation.

waste of money

i typically eat steak at more low-key restaurants, but decided to try one of houston’s “high-end” steakhouses for my birthday weekend.  the whole experience was just one major disappointment after another.  first, they kept me waiting 20 minutes past my confirmed reservation time.  for one person?  really? ordered a drink, and waiter promptly disappeared for 10-15 minutes, only to reappear rushing past saying “your drink is coming”. i actually had to shout at him “come back here and take my food order!”.  got a dozen raw oysters which were tiny and paper-thin. typically $15.00 or less anywhere for large gulf oysters, but $30.00 here for these microscopic things.  first waste of money. the ribeye was just ok but full of gristle - certainly not prime and not worth $55.00.  second waste of money. decided to ask for the manager to at least get some sort of compensation on the bill, (and after making me wait, presumably so i’d leave),  all he offered - while looking down his nose at me - was a glass of wine.  instead of trying to make things right and satisfy the customer, his obvious objective was to counter each and every complaint i had with an argument.  not what i’d expect at these prices.  is this restaurant so cheap they can afford to piss off customers?  my advice - don’t waste your money on all this pretense, pomp and circumstance and go somewhere else.  it’s all fiction and b.s.

excellent service and outstanding food. started with drinks from the bar, then oysters rockefeller, finished with a filet that was perfectly cooked.

attended v&a's for a high class dinner with a company trying to get me to relocate to houston. everything was insanely good down to the dinner biscuits, and we almost sampled it all: caesar salad, crab cakes, bone-in ribeye, giant king grab leg (1/2 lb), cabernet & washed it all down with angel eyes whiskey over rocks. the hostess & waiters were superb- everything they you would expect from a five-star. of course, you pay for quality like that; but for the experience & insanely good food, i'd do it again!

great steakhouse. the shrimp cocktails, crab cakes, and oyster rockefeller were great appetizers. salads were great and the steak was superb; all of our steaks came out perfectly cooked.

i'd rate the food an easy 4/5 and the service 5/5. the food is reasonably priced for what it is.

couple complaints. this is a very noisy restaurant, even for a monday night.

now, the thing that turned me off from this place was the wine list. don't get me wrong, the wine list is extensive featuring some great vintages. this is where my issue lies: i went to order my usual caymus 40th anniversary only to be taken aback when it's priced at $395. a bottle of this wine retails for $60-$80. an up charge of over 400% pisses me off; it feels like robbery.

all in all this is a nice steakhouse and i would recommend it.

regarded by many as one of the better steakhouses in houston. service and food preparation are top-notch. there are a couple of things i've had (other than steaks) that have risen to the top of my recollection and i highly recommend. the jumbo lump crab cake, finished with a chive beurre blanc, quite possibly may be the best crab cake in the greater houston area. and a dessert, when they have it, their croissant bread pudding, served with a homemade caramel ice cream. both spectacular.

my favorite (so far) steakhouse to dine when visiting houston. i'm always trying new steak joints but this place made an impression. the mashed potatoes, which i can't recall the menu name for, was some of the best i've ever tasted. i usually prefer an au gratin style potato, but these were so good and flavorful. the bone in ribeye was also top notch. cheesecake was 5 stars. it seemed that all areas of the menu were mastered.

came here for a business dinner and was extremely happy with the wine and after dinner cocktail selection.  the steaks were perfectly cooked and the service was exemplary!  their mashed potatoes and creamed spinach sides are my favorite.  must make a reservation as they always seem to be full!

fancy, traditional, best cuts of meat!. if you want a traditional upscale steakhouse. this is it! service is #1 here. from the bread to dessert this is it.
the beef is delicious. this is also great to people watch also. tables are close. if you don't like that make sure you make a reservation for the large booths.
