avoid this place. for a special anniversary dinner we chose to go to vernon's hidden valley steaks on 4th. what a huge, huge disappointment. the service from the front door in what third rate. considering the prices you will pay for a filet mignon $36, or an aged ny steak $55 you will leave feeling ripped off. i have had friends warn about this place - one telling me that the creme brulee topping was made with salt, not sugar. our experience last night was the worst we have ever had in the slim-pickin's food choices of abq.

dremrie. while the service was very good the food was overpriced and of poor quality...i've had better steak served in a dormatory cafateria. vernon's promotes "prime" beef but the steak i was served couldn't have possibly been prime. we won't be back.

good concept!. vernons is a good concept, that is poorly executed. the food while its prepered properly is overpriced, the service lacks that extra something. what can i compare it to? an over priced steak house. its to oldschool, that type of concept was cool 10 years ago, you cant stay stuck in the past, oh and calico cafe next to vernons, that shares the same kitchen? close it down calico is going to put the final nail in vernons coffin. also far from a fine dining, more like a special occasion place.

amazing! the food was the best and the service was beyond any expectation! gabriel even helped us celebrate our anniversary by putting a candle in the box we took desert home in! best place in albuquerque.

what fun!. hidden door in the back of a liquor store, password to get it. what fun it was. we loved the 'speakeasy' atmosphere and fun attitude of the staff. our waiter was very helpful with suggestions, and we were delighted with the great service and excellent food and wine.

the jazz music was fair, but the performer got carried away with the volume knob on his amplifier. it kept getting increasingly loud until we had trouble hearing each other. we mentioned it to our waiter who agreed. eventually, the problem was corrected. most nights (check when you call) they have piano entertainment which we would have preferred for dining.

but in spite of the loud music, we had a wonderful night at vernon's and look forward to going back.

not family friendly restaurant. when i called to make reservations, i requested 1 setting for a 2 year old in a high chair - the host took the number of individuals and forgot to mention they didn't have high chairs which in return would have indicated to me not to bring a 2 year-old. i waitedin the bakery of the attached restaurant until my party was finished eating. although the staff was friendly, i felt very uncomfortable with my 2 year-old as others were having a quiet/romantic/intimate/special type of dining experience. the atmosphere is definitely not for a child under the age of 10 to be in. i will return for an experience that other's have been able to enjoy - without my 2 year-old.

vernon's steaks. this place has to be the best rated restuarant in the city! fantastic meals, great staff and the atmosphere is perfect!!! thanks for a great time.
