wow, they take dislikes off. we were there end of march and didn't have a good thing to say about the place. saved my old review. so you can take this one down too.

hey, if you haven't made it out to social, what are you waiting for?

the restaurant is located on the south side of the island and is decorated with a shabby chic motif of hunting lodge meets beach bum. known for their gourmet tacos, the restaurant also has a great variety of appetizers and other meal options and caters to the artistic foodie.

horrible service. was there thursday, horrible service. i don't know if the waitress was new or just didn't care about her job but she was late with everything; drinks, food, our check. her main priority seemed to be hanging out at the bar, talking to other employees and looking at her phone. she talked too fast, it was like she was on speed or just in dire need to do anything but her job. the food was great. but because of the service, next time i'll pass on the social club, or just get my food to go. i hope the management takes time to actually review who they hire and focuses on weeding out lazy servers.

outstanding food. diners, drive-ins, and dives should pay the tybee island social club a visit. it doesn't exactly qualify as a dive because the location and atmosphere are actually very nice. but the food is original and fantastic. if you like a menu with some safe tasty options but also some savory, off-the-beaten path potentials, check out the social club. and the staff is young and fun. ;)

delicious food, awful service. the tacos, burgers, and queso dip is incredible. work ethic of the staff sucks. take #1- online, their site says the kitchen closes at 10pm. i got there at 9:24pm, and they said the kitchen was closed. lazy bums. take #2- i ordered the shrimp taco, listed as $5.00, and my bill said it was $7.25. i told the waitress, and she smiled and said, "sorry! but the menu says prices are 'subject to change!' " and then when i gave her money to pay, she kept my 67 cents change (but i left her tip on the table)

they hire bums. cute ones, though

not your average taco. not your average taco and service can be a little bit inconsistent. best not to go if you're in a hurry but the food is always worth the wait! different, outside the box toppings for the tacos and a beachy atmosphere. just know you're dining on "island time" drink some sangria and relax. it's a place we take friends and family.

a lot of potential, but disappointing. we visited tybee this past weekend with 2 other couples and their children. we chose the social club based on the great reviews.

we were very disappointed.

we arrived and there were no high chairs for the children, so immediately the kids started breaking down. we ordered the guacamole to begin our meal and it was extremely bland.

the manager came over and ordered the crab nachos on the house, and were thankful, but later realized she was trying to hold us over because the food took forever to arrive. we waited over an hour for our food and when it came out, most of us were disappointed. the fish tacos were sitting in grease. the steak taco was delicious, though.

we didn't have a chance to even complain about the wait time because the children were so tried by the end we just wanted to get out of there.

some of the food was good, so we might try it again, but really hope for better service next time!

great place! best shrimp taco, although it was more like a gyro...my husband loved his pork "taco"...also some of the best hummus!!

fish tacos and margaritas are awesome!

the scientist is an excellent cocktail.

"tacos" are made on warm pita bread filled with a variety of unique ingredients. we enjoyed the duck taco and the orange pork taco. comfortable atmosphere and very good service.

great food but taco plates include one taco and no sides . men will want to order more than one plate.

charming and delicious. awesomely-priced delicious food -- tacos are a must-try!

delightful experience. 3 of us drove from savannah tonight and had a wonderful meal.
we all ordered fish tacos and each of us also ordered another selection, steak, orange pork and short rib. everything was flavorful.
the staff was helpful and fun. we will be back soon

vegans beware. social is not vegan friendly, despite the menu deceivingly listing the 'veggie taco' as being '100% vegan'. my vegan wife and i drove 30+ minutes to social dozens of times for this taco, and when my mostly-vegan family was visiting in a town nearby, i invited them to specifically to have this delicious taco. they drove more than an hour on my recommendation.

we were all ecstatic when our order of half a dozen of the '100% vegan' tacos arrived, but bummed about the cheese on top of the side of beans we had ordered. we sent back the beans and asked for a replacement with no cheese - this must have triggered a light bulb in the head of one of the kitchen staff, who came out to inform us that the pesto in the taco contained parmesan and the vegetables were cooked in butter. hardly '100% vegan!'

she further elaborated that "whoever wrote the menu doesn't know what vegan means." needless to say, we won't be going back!

i don't particularly like writing negative reviews, but i recently politely suggested that they re-word their menu to not be deceptive in a comment on their facebook wall, which they quickly deleted. stay classy, eh?
